Re: CAR SHOW SPECTATOR DAMAGE

And I quote: "T owners seem to be a cranky bunch who love to complain about others, guess that makes them superior? It also helps to run down the value of T's, who would want to associate with them?" Since I am a T owner, this quote supposedly speaks about me. I could not disagree more to the above ...

Re: CAR SHOW SPECTATOR DAMAGE

I enjoy taking my T out on the local backroads and just coming back home. I don't like taking it somewhere and walking away from it for dinner or something else. I am always happy to answer questions, give rides, or demonstrate any aspect of the car until someone's curiosity is satiated. I always wa...

CAR SHOW SPECTATOR DAMAGE

Ever been to a car show where a spectator runs into your car with a baby carriage, scrapes it somehow, or otherwise does damage??? today I had some oblivious dimwit walk into my touring car with a birdfeeder. Chipped my 60 year old still very nice laquer paint job. All because he was preoccupied by ...

Re: New noise in Henrietta.

I had an issue a couple of years ago. The engine would knock and bang loudly under load. I pulled the engine and we rebuilt it. My noise was improperly shimmed main bearing caps. We just took shim material out.... Good luck and don't drive it too much until you fix it.

Re: State Inspections

wow! What an experience at the inspection station. Not surprising in the least, though. This RMV/DMV and a lot of things related leave a lot to be desired here. Other people somewhere else are very fortunate. I'm feeling like we are the last of the pre 1930 operators. When I was a kid there were al...

Re: Cleaning old grease in black top

I would try a 3 step process. 1) Put an ample layer of either SPEEDY DRY or CAT LITTER, 1 inch thick, on the spot you wish to clear. 2) With work boots, shoes, or sneakers, vigorously grind in the material into the spot with your foot until granules have become dust. I have a special 8 inch 2x4 blo...

Re: State Inspections

I only drive my car up a quiet backroad to Old Deerfield Village and back. 5.5 miles each way on mostly flat paved road. The car loves the flat stuff. Old Deerfield was recently paved. Ultra smooth! I rarely have a car come up from the rear. If they do, they always pass and wave. People here love s...

Re: State Inspections

Ok... I understand now

I have been using a battery operated bicycle light you can just barely see in my picture I posted. That should be enough to get a sticker if it's just a marker light and I don't need a brake light.

Re: State Inspections

So did the T come with a factory tail light in 1919 or specifically what year if any? Prior poster says 1919, and then another says did not come with one. I'm confused....

Re: State Inspections

Very valid points John. I've been driving without a sticker in the window without any issue with the local PD. I think it to be nearly impossible to find a T knowledgeable inspector anyway. In Mass they have this new inspection that is monitored remotely by video cameras in an effort to cut down on...

Re: State Inspections

here is a picture of the lights.
I was hoping to be early enough they were not a factory installed item in '23. That way I would not need them to pass.

To answer your tax question. No tax on safety equipment. Just $35 for an inspection sticker.

State Inspections

I live in Taxachusetts. What year did a tail light become a factory item? My '23 touring car has two red tail lights (both inoperable) that I'm of the understanding did not come from Henry in '23. The car supposedly came without that year. Is that true?? I don't want to pull the lights off just to ...

I run 10-30 and a quart of 30HD. the HD oil cleans well.
it gets dark quickly but seems to keep things reasonably clean. 500 miles, or when it gets real dark, or twice a year... whichever comes 1rst.....just sayin'...

Hatfield Mass Show 8/4/19

Anyone thinking about going? I was the only T there last year. 400+ vehicles. Nice field with a pavilion for shade. Food and live band. And if your into trophies, they had a huge table full of them.

Re: Western Mass?

I guess I'm a "real" western mass guy too. I reside in south deerfield about a mile north of Yankee Candle. I dislike going east over the river, except to visit the great folks at Lang's. I go to the annual Lang s event. I'd enjoy having T fans over some summer day for a visit. I have lots of room t...

I posted something a year ago about moving. I now reside in the greater Amherst area and am looking to network and find other local T owners. I have my car ready for the season but don't want to go down the road alone. If you're local send me a PM. Thanks! :D
