I agree with Allan. I think square flange is correct for the 1926-27 roadsters. At least it is on mine. Flange on the inside and brackets on the engine side of the firewall.

When I restored the springs 6 years ago I used 3M Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene UHMW Tape. Its a very durable thick and low friction tape whit a strong glue on one side. Re: Can arc welding weaken magnets ?
Thanks Frank. I've read about that phenomenon but its about 3 feet from the transmission so I don't think that will be a problem.
I am more concerned with the current flowing thru the frame/engine. But Im maybe overthinking the possible danger of demagnetising .

Can arc welding weaken magnets ?
I am wondering about arc welding(DC) can hurt the magnets. I'm about to do a small repair on the frame close to the engine,
and would like to hear your opinion. Thanks.

Mario. The 1915 model T is not stock. The engine is modified with pressure oil system, new crank and oil slingers.
Just watched this video. Its in Dutch so I can't understand the subtext, but the video shows some modifications being done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUL21Xr2-bc

Hi again. Been thinking about the mystery hole (the big hole above the door latch striker . Could it be for a rubber "cushion" or rubber knob to keep the door from rattling ? Something like the rubber knobs in the lower left and right side under the turtle deck lid. Just a thought.
