At least a couple of people in Australia have converted the later coupe to earlier looking cars. Depending on how far you want to go, at the very least you need to fit the 1915/16 hood former, maybe change the fenders to the earlier 1916 style, get a new hood and wooden clash strip are you are good ...

I cam across this device amongst a pile of T parts. Can anyone confirm it is actually off, its manufacturer a T and what is its purpose is. The 3 bolt holes on the drive gear end appear to line up with a T Generator housing? Just curious. Your thoughts please?

There are enough original photos and surviving Canadian 1913 T's in Australia to prove that all manufacturers of lights were represented. E&J, both all brass and steel and brass,JNO Brown and Glasco. We even had English manufactured brass lamps installed as well.

Pretty rare to see the early straight axle hubs anywhere. Only made on T's for a couple of years, and most early cars were retro fitted with the tapered style in their early years of life or later during restorations for safety and reliability reasons.

I think Scott has nailed it. Engine/transmission and band life is directionally proportional to the treatment given by the driver! Oil is cheap. Regular changes are easy.

John, Allans point is correct. The car is advertised as a 1917. If the body is indeed an original or even correct 1917 it should have period correct running gear underneath it. Remove side cover plate form the engine and check valve springs, collets and keepers. you may have dropped a valve, no copression, no difference in engine note even if plug is firing and coil is ok.

I have been enjoying a wonderful Summer of T Touring. A highlight was to take Dad out to lunch for his 85th birthday. Our club Christmas party was fun, but I attended without the T.
