I have some MARX trains from the 1950s 60s. One of the engine tenders features Sound of Power, an old style circuit board that creates static. The power is picked up by a wheel that rubs on the center rail. The wheel has gaps in it to stop the electricity on an equally spaced interim. SO shh shh shh...

Hot glue is not very permanent in most cases. I would not use it for anything I wanted to last on a car. Gluing in toothpicks or wood matches works great for all kinds of things, especially screws that are stripped out in wood.

I have taken the engine out of my 18 touring before, not too tricky.
Are there any special considerations for taking the engine out of an EARLY 23 Fordoor?
I have heard it said you should take the hogshead off before pulling the engine.
Any advice?

Re: Taking the Driveshaft off of a TT Ruckstell
BE extremely careful if you decide to seperate the back of the drive shfat from the worm. The coupler will split if you beat on it too much.
Unless you are replacing the worm or if your driveshaft is bent, you shouldn't need to seprate it, so don't.

Take lots of photos. You shouldn't need any special tools.
Try a search on "MTFCA ruckstell shifter" It should bring up several images. I believe it looks much like the shifter for a car but is a bit heftier.
Be aware, parts are not being made for the TT Ruckstell.

Re: Good Model T Names
Our 11 Torpedo is "Aunt Sally" named after the previous owner
I call the Fordoor "The Fordoor" but my wife wanted to name it "Sharona" because it was purchsed during Corona (which rhymes) and we are both fans of the TV show MONK.

Be careful with Sycamore. Some people a very allergic to its dust and chips. Both a skin and lung irritant to some folks.

Snowmobile ski question
I just bought a 24 roadster with an Ossipee snowmobile conversion. The skis are about 6 inches farther apart in the back than they are in the front. I doubt this is OK where should they be? Parallel? Thanks

Re: Tickin thru Time Gone??
The folks that produce them were in charge of the MTFCI summer tour for 2022, quite a time consuming project. I can understand why they would be behind in their orders. Give them a call, they are good people.
