Re: Hang on buddy!

There is a photo of a near new 1925 front view. It looks to me like the car is probably a 25 model produced in 1924 or early 1925. Sometime in mid-year 1925, my guess, is Ford went to the 1926 front spring which added a leaf, and lowered the car 1" at the same time. Does anyone know when?

I would assume the bulletins were mailed to the dealers. In one of the last posts, is an example of the late bulletin binder design. I'm not willing to take apart my binder to measure the length of the shoe string, but I would assume they might be available still.

Re: Blockley Tire import question.

I think Blockley tires are ugly, and they don't put the proper valve stems on their tubes either. I've had good luck with Firestones. I only wish the current tubes were of better quality.

Re: Ford tools

I have two sets of tools in the original tool rolls, bags, and none of them were painted. I have no real early rolls, so don't know what they did then.

Front License Bracket

Wanted to buy an accessory license plate bracket for the fender iron. I see them often in old photos, but have yet to find one. These seem to have been used in the early teens.

Re: FS starter set of T service Bulletins

That is how I started collecting service bulletins over 40 years ago. It was a fun project. I didn't have anything to go by then, so it was hit and miss. There are some dates that are confusing, where they didn't issue a bulletin for December, and others where they issued two bulletins for one month...

Re: Clincher rim and metal stems

The problem is, even though Blockly is sort of doing us a favor, they are not. The tire valves are too large for a Model T. They don't want to change a thing, even though what they offer is incorrect. For me, I'll be happy to wait until an American tube manufacturer decides to help out.

I have two 1913's. Both of them required a thin washer between the fan bracket and the front cover to allow the belt to track properly.

What I enjoy seeing, is there are no step plates on any of these cars! There shouldn't be today either!

I put a Giant Power head on my car a few years ago. What a waste of time. I maybe got a 1% improvement.

It is true, the current bridge washers are garbage. Schrader and Dill made them correctly. Why not any more? The same goes for the valves!

Re: AC Brakes

What is mentioned above is correct. The current Rocky Mountain brakes were patterned after a set of original AC brakes. All AC and Rocky Mountain brakes were originally operated with a cable. Don't ask me how I know, I was there!

Well! Wha'd'yathinkofthis?

Oh, little Ford, come here to me, And let me seat myself in thee. Of all the cars they call the best You're far ahead of all the rest! Thy little wheels run with a will, Thou carest naught about a hill; And as by the side stand the others bu'st You go by crying "EXCUST MY DUST!" So dear old Ford com...

Re: Reproduction Schrader 777 tire valve

That is a positive step. A&L did it for the Model A's. I prefer the 888 for my cars. It is 1/4" shorter and works just the same. Keep in mind Dan McEachern makes the correct rim nuts for these valves.

I wonder when Ford stopped using that style knurled cover? I have both nickel and brass, but did it continue into 1917? For those using the brass type, Dan McEachern is making the correct serrated rim nuts for those. They are perfect in every respect.

Re: A look at an original tool bag and tools

As I mentioned previously, I have a NOS 25-27 tool bag I bought from Don Lang years ago. My assumption is it was used until 1927. Why? That style was introduced to hold the new long jack handle the came along in 1925, That jack handle also has a spoon end on it, so they were able to remove one of th...

Re: A look at an original tool bag and tools

I have a NOS Ford tool bag that is the same as pictured above, but is made of Ford top material. I suspect the photo above is original, but that day they decided to make the bags out of the top boot and gypsy curtain material used in 1927?
