Re: Working the show.
Rich- the one running the mill reminds me of Old Car Festival this year. We put a Centennial (one of the ones built in 2003) on a "Henry's Helper"- a device ran off the back wheels of a T as a sort of "PTO" to power something- in our case I think it was a corn sheller or some other sort of grain mil...

Dallas Landers to the white courtesy phone, please! Steve is looking for your phone number.
Steve just called me and asked if I had your number. Unfortunately, I do not.
If anyone has Dallas' number, please PM it to me so I can get it to Steve. He's trying to get lines of communication.
He sounds good, and was in good spirits when I talked to him.
Thanks!

I can't find my copy at the moment but the book "The Model T Ford in Speed & Sport" had discussion and plans for building a T speedster including those with fabric coverings. Looks like a drag link or tie rod broke? There isn't really that much damage, as it appears the hood was taken off but not put back on correctly, and the wooden 'sidewalk' or whatever it is isn't torn up like the car dragged along it. The 'stick', I believe, is a stick. And the canvas cover? Got me!...

That was my first thought, but I'm guessing that these are truly brass painted black.

Re: Old Car Festival, Dearborn - pictures?
We only made it for a few hours, hit Randy Hayward's motorcycle show Saturday in the morning with my son and his girlfriend, then did lunch and shopping downtown Detroit in the early afternoon. He convinced me to stop by OCF, and I'm glad we did. Met up with some of his friends down by the lagoon, a...

Re: Whereβs Steve Jelf ??
Well, he made it to our house Friday night. I didn't get to spend much time with him at the show, but we had some GREAT conversations both evenings. He told some wonderful stories about his family and homesteading in the late 1800s. He's got so much history to share it's incredible. I haven't heard ...

Sorry I missed all of you this year. We went to my buddy Randy's antique motorcycle show downtown early Saturday afternoon, then retired home to do homework... the joy of being back in school. Were going to try and make the gaslight parade but it was just not in the cards. Had a couple good late nig...

Re: What have you done with your T in July
We haven't done anything to our T in over a year. However, driving through Amish country in mid Michigan all week (for the first time in at least 4 years) made me REALLY wish it was driveable. Definitely a motivational factor. Once the rail is done, I think it's time to get seriously started on it a...

It's not totally nearby (within 30 miles, I'd say), but Detroit Greenfield campground in Ypsilanti seems to be a popular choice with my out of town friends who've stayed there. It's down I-94 from Dearborn. This is such awesome news- I missed all my T buddies last year. Steve- if you choose to stay ...

Dayton may actually still have it. I have a set of Rudge/Whitworths from a Rickenbacker and they said they could help with those.

Tried putting some 2X4's away in the garage rafters I'd found under a boat I sold... slipped off the radius rod on my son's Model A drag rail and cut my heel pretty good on the T rear axle next to it. That's about all the T-ing I've done for awhile. ;) Hopefully, we can start putting Mildred (his Mo...

999- what does this say?
I was going through online pictures THF has for 999 and came across this.
Anyone know what it says? Link is to my post on the EFR asking the same question.
Seems odd that there is a "Since 1903" on a car built in 1902.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone Attend the Auction In Stanwood Michigan Saturday?
When I was at Ferris State in the mid-90s, a classmate had a place outside Stanwood. It was his grandfather's hunting property, and had a primitive cabin (no electricity or running water). But, more importantly, it was logged off in the early 20th century, and there was a PILE (like, probably 50 or ...

Mark's response is exactly what I meant when I made mine. Thanks for the wonderful explanation of why you did it.
Question though- the adapter plate- does the thickness affect the compression ratio? I've always wondered how that worked raising the head up that amount.
TIA,
