Re: Model T philosophy: What is a restoration?

To Steve's point- the problem is with the term "restored". People are easily fooled and swayed when they read something. Myths and nonfactual data are condoned when not confronted. So when the uneducated see a "restored" 1924 Model T with natural wheels the assume that this is correct...

The position of the hand crank is dependent on the position of the engine crankshaft. Bending, twisting or re-drilling the hand crank will not alter this fact.

Mario, your request does not make sense. Below is a Model T magneto assembly:

It may have been FMC's first sale but Henry Ford's previous companies sold many production vehicles prior to this.

Sorry, but a water pump on a T does not necessarily result in cooling- this is an ongoing myth...

Circulating water does not universally result in cooling the engine. That's why it's called a "pump" and not a "cooler".

Re: Restoration woes.

Applying paint to body panels and pieces is the very last thing that is done during a restoration. The body should be assembled prior to painting to avoid what has happened in your situation.

Re: Kevlar band lining sets

Susanne, the answer to your question is simple. The drums were designed to have cotton applied to them- not something like Kevlar which is 5 times stronger than steel. It's not rocket science- cotton and Kevlar are 2 totally different materials. It's similar to having almond "milk" in the dairy cool...

Re: Will changing electrical system to 12v devalue the car?

"I am afraid that this might change the character of the car an devalue it. Would it actually do that?" Yes, It will most definitely change the character and value of the car. If your car is unreliable it's not because of the 6 volt system. Fix what's broke or worn out and you will have restored th...

Scott- Well said! The nonsense surrounding this 'pandemic" is ridiculous. It's inconceivable to me that so many Americans buy what the media and government "officials" are peddling. Too many people are willing to go along with the blatant infringement and trampling of their rights. * 655,000 people ...
