It is your car, be proud of it. You put your time, effort and money in it and it is up to you to enjoy it, all original or not. Sounds like you need to ask around some of your not so stuck up T friends and start your own friends and enjoy your T's and leave the trailer queen group to themselves.

If is a 26_27 Horseheads it will have 2 ears with 5/8 holes that bolt to the back of a 26 or 27 block. They used the wide brake band.

I will agree with Les except it sounds like toe out. My sister pulled me backwards one time when my t quit. What a ride, it squirreled all over the place. Backing up the leading edge of the tire is placed on the backside and that side is toed out.

Re: repairing/restoring clincher
I cannot remember if it was in VF Tinkering Tips or the Tips books but there was an article on sharp rims. The gentleman ground off the sharp edge all the way around. He then used a heavy gage steel wire and tacked it down to startto hold it. He made a simple heavy wire tool that went overboth edges...

Re: Diagnosis of charging problem
If you were running a belt drive generator without a belt and the relay was stuck closed the generator would motor if it was workable. It cannot on a model t asit is gear driven and cannot turn the engine over. Take your generator off and onnect a 6 volt battery with the positive terminal to the gen...

I know the approximate length of the flat copper used in the magneto coils is approximately 11 feet. Was there any specific reason other than available room that it was this length? The first photo reminds me of what my dad told me about my grandad. My grandad traded 300 bushel of corn for a model t touring car. Re: unknown (to me) wrench
That wrench was used on the old hand switches to tighten or remove the blade. I have 2 like this and one double ended one with a 9/ 16 box on the other end. My dad was very proud to have these as he said a lot of people had the scythe not not a lot had the wrench to go with them. I believe the small...

The 820 gates belt, is the 820 a millimeter measurement for length? If it is a serpentine belt shows up when I type Gates 820 black belt into Google. I am in the process of building a coil tester. It will not tell you if you have a double spark or some of the things an Ecct tester will but you can find out if you have a usable coil and will not empty your billfold. Several years ago in Tinkering Tips one was pictured using a 6 volt battery. Ted A...

I believe the original body on my T was a roadster. With the pickup box on it the fenders do not come close to the box.
