Making a softer and lower cushion and making a less bulky back rest are a remedy but it is really depended about your stature. Taking about 4" of the steering column for folks with a larger waist is another remedy.

If it does not turn in the direction you require, use a bell crank from a Jeep forward cab. Just follow the 90 degree rule of steering geometry in the push/pull at the attachment points. The internet has all of this.

Machine the bottom of the shaft as others have stated...., done bunches over the years. Anything else is asking for a dangerous situation in the hands of those with limited skills. The shaft/flange attachment is where all the torque is located.

Exhaust pipes etc do not run hot on low grade fuel, up the octane, compression ratio, overhead valve....., you are creating heat or power (typical KW conversion). The coolant temp does not raise. Look how your modern car creates power.

Well they do prevent heat causing your floor boards to rattle/warp/crack/etc! Wrapping the exhaust pipe will only cause them to rot out at a very fast rate as it makes them sweat with condensation from the outside. 4,000 degree Rockwool in-between is just an added bonus. Re: Helping a Friend with a Promise
Well finally finished up the truing of the billet on a vertical belt sander using 40 grit. I drill completely thru the stanchions and then TIG up the holes for a full depth thread.., old school. Now making windshield/wind-wing templets and setting the style as we agree on the final design. Next will...

Re: Battery Cost Inflation
Geez Folks easy fix to all of this...., A Country Boy will survive! Get 50 pounds of potatoes, 1 pound of zinc galvanized nails 2" long, cut #12 gauge solid copper wire into 2" lengths, and a spool of 12 gauge strained copper wire. Now start making series/parallel circuits and you just made a potato...

Re: Members Only Forum
As the wheel of economics and social interaction runs its coarse, we fail to realize that a few pay the dues and others benefit for free. With that said, not putting anyone down, we will run out of those paid members that contribute the funds and then the dues increase. Sounds familiar as this is ho...

Re: What if your timing is at 7.5% instead of 15%?
I have always set timing by a vacuum to optimize fuel efficiency. Simple with a vacuum port, set to the highest HG psi and back off 1 psi at idle. What ever is your octane level you just hit the sweet spot. If you ever wonder why some T intakes have a drilled port...., now you know. Science does not...

Helping a Friend with a Promise
From years back.., keeping my word to assist in the parts that do not exist. Installing a Vega Steering Box, High angle wedge for the column drop, and custom billet aluminum windshield stanchions. Posting this to show others how to do it. The key in making these, you must use a variable speed metal ...

Re: It’s Over
Well there is a simple answer to what you are referring to as greed..., . Spending a lifetime collecting parts at swap meets (buying them), or buying out a whole lot at an auction (with fees), Or trading something else for them. Now add up all the travel expenses to include wear and tear on equipmen...

Mack, I tried like hell to inspire others years back to include mentorship. If I restore a part it has some sort of value in my time and resources to get it and fix it. I have given more away for free than most know. If it is not worth a fair price..., then it goes for scrap as I control my destiny ...

SAD..., But Dan I said it 10 years ago about support of the hobby and producers of replacement parts as you know. All your expenses to and from, risk of an accident, wear and tear, etc makes you rethink the future. I have loaded the last of my Model T parts on a scrap trailer so on to the final chap...

It amazes me that some have forgotten history. Starting in the late 1940's the shoe was on the other foot with UK and other Commonwealth counties and USA made items were tariffed to death, Now that the USA wants "Protectionism" to keeps "Us" as a superpower, everyone has hurt butts! Who are you goin...

Scott...., Really? You forgot the bubble wrap and duct tape! Amen to your post as I can relate big time! I slid a motorcycle under a semi trailer in my 20's as the jackass ran a stop sign. Thank God back in those days they did not have all the under carriage barriers on them or I would have been spl...
