Re: Australia tires

The tires were like new when I started driving it. 5 years and approx 25000 miles later the age was taking their toll so ...

Checking bearing surfaces
Hey guys, I wanted to replace my pan gasket as it was leaking in a few spots. I figured since I was under there, I may as well pull the connecting rod caps and check the bearing surfaces. I know what Good looks like, problem is, I have no clue if what I'm looking at is Ok or No good. What do you guy...

Re: Am I right to be upset? Children in old cars
In Wisconsin children under 5 must follow child safety seat and restraint laws. If the car doesn't have the proper measures to restrain, then they can't ride. Over 5 and the child has to be restrained if there are restraint devices (factory standard or aftermarket). Its going to be so hard not to ta...

Re: Need confirmation of problem
Well, I drove it today. Definitely down on power. Feels really good in low gear but the transition to high is horrible. Theres just no torque to get it going. It'd make a great parade car the way it is but I think the owner wants to drive it more than that. Next step is to do a leak down test to see...

Re: Need confirmation of problem
Update: We decided to make sure it ran before spending money on the exhaust. So we bolted up the manifolds, gaskets on the intake, none on the exhaust. Then went on the carb and a final check that we werent missing anything. All good, so it was time to fire. Rod let me have the honors since I had al...

Re: Need confirmation of problem
I ended up replacing 3 valves. The stuck, bent one and then 2 of them that the valve faces were so pitted lapping wouldn't fix it. I lapped all other valves so the seats and faces look good. Then I started bolting it all together. Everything went super smooth until I got to the exhaust manifold. Tak...

Re: Need confirmation of problem
UPDATE We decided it was time to remove the head and have easy access to everything. Head came off easy, inspection of the head gasket showed possible water infiltration into combustion chamber. I'm not the best gasket reader, but it wouldn't take much to cause the rust I'm sure. I pulled the valve ...

Re: What have you done with your T in September?
Had the freeze plug pop again. Dumped all my water onto the carb which promptly killed my engine. Drag racers use water injection, so I thought it'd be faster. Nope, died on the side of the road. I pushed her to the local Kwik Trip, borrowed some tools. Pulled plugs, spun the engine to pump out wate...

Lighting issue
Latest issue I have is with lighting. Currently all original 6 volt setup, 2 headlights and one taillight. I replaced all bulbs about a year and a half ago. Recently one headlight on dim burned out. That was ok to me because I run on battery so it saved me some juice. Now both lights burned out, so ...

Re: What have you done with your T in September?
Took a 75 mile round trip in the rain today to the East Troy Railway Museum. Got to ride a 1929 electric trolley. Stopped at the ice cream shop next door for a treat and a photo op. Slight hill in front of the building so I parked in a way that my brakes would hold. Then I went inside to see this on...
