I’m about ready to drop my motor in a speedster I’m building. I’ve got the front and rear axles done, next comes the body. It’s an Overland body but I might want to go for a spin before I take it off for bodywork and paint so I had to drill holes for a coil box. Never used one of those step bits before.

Adding weight to the wheels and a wider footprint on the road will likely reveal any problems with the front axle assembly and the steering response, especially on loose surfaces. The wider the tyre the greater the steering effort required, even if you have the 5:1 gearing. Your choice.
You can reduce the revs by dropping the speed a little....

Different thicknesses may mean different curvature of the lens. This makes focusing the lights different. My E and J headlights have this problem. It just means one burner is set further in advance of the other in the adjustment slots in the base. When you look square on at them in day light, the dark circle seen in the reflectors is larger on one...

What was the improvement supposed to be with the angled spark plugs. Better combustion chamber performance or ?? Another T head for??

I agree with John. It seems like every time I borrowed something it was in questionable condition, and inevitably would fail while it was in my possession. So, I too would have to repair / replace the worn-out item and also have to buy one for myself. Now my problem is I have way too many tools.....if that's possible!

Good points ! I had some copper never-seize that had an expiration date - WTH ?

I had some aluminum anti-seize without an expiration date. After 40 years, it had “gone bad” (I don’t use it a lot :lol: )

I bet you could have added some thin oil or mineral spirits & reconstituted it.

Larry, when I found a complete battery box lid and inspection cover, i also used same. The battery was clamped down using a couple of wooden spacers on the top at the ends, with the same original clamps that hold the lid down.
Until i had an electrical problem. In the time it took to rip out the tourer rear floor boards, undo the clamp bolts, undo...

The high head does have a larger water capacity, but the low head has a slightly high compression ratio (i.e. smaller combustion chamber).

spoke with Kevin Hammock this afternoon regarding times when vendors will be allowed onsite ... Wednesday afternoon after 5:00 vendors with LARGE trailers will be allowed to place their trailers ... Thursday morning at 7:00 for smaller vehicles ... this is done to reduce the clutter and allow access for LARGE vehicles ... looking forward to this...

When ordering new tops from Classtique, on their order form, roll up rear panels are listed as an option on most ant year they supply. They sure are nice providing “ flow thru ventilation” on any touring car!

Motorcraft 465 works OK. Ford is introducing a 465A that’s supposed to be an improvement.

The mounting brackets were universal, same ones for all brands. The differences would be getting the correct ones for the year. The side/cowl lamps with the brackets attached came some time in 1914.

I have never seen 3/16 plate glass in original windscreens in Australian bodied T's. My 1915 Canadian sourced tourer had 1/4 glass and the brass channel. Other spare frames I have found and traded were all to take 1/4 glass. Is this a Canadian thing?
If 3/16 glass was mounted in our components without bedding tape, it would rattle and leak water...

Mark l already have a set of your wire wheel lug nuts and they are awesome, now we need a quality set of wire wheel hubcaps!

The one in left corner at the rear looks to me to be the one possibly for on the right side where the door latch goes. From the angle it looks like the whole back section is too high for the body metal. Unless you don't have the tin against the sill at the bottom. The part on the floor looks like it might the top for the back panel.

Wondered how fan was fitted, on Jack’s the large gear has pulley for fan belt. Instruction page notes T fan bracket remains in place.

I don't think the line across the radiator on the touring is a fender brace. It appears to be attached to the radiator shell. I'd guess it's an accessory or owner added item for the purpose of retaining a lower radiator winter front to prevent the radiator from freezing in cold weather. It evidently isn't for mounting a license plate.

Marty, I have a 26-27 rear end, driveshaft and radius rods I’d sell for $80. It’s on a farm just north of New Braunfels so you’d have to drive nearly an hour to see it. I’ll be there tomorrow (7 Feb) morning…and it would have to be rebuilt

Thanks Dan. Now here is where things are confusing to me. Tim above mentioned his #1 Top Socket was 25 in overall length. My new reproduction #1 Socket is 26 overall. (My 1915 Socket is 25 ). Tim shows a measurement for the #1 Socket & Bow at a total length of 36 . According to Dan's post, the amount of the bow protruding should be 6¼ ...which...

I already started the welding and filing process on the pedal cam, but the last two posts present viable, inexpensive solutions. Thanks for those.

A few comments: 1) If you are reaming the rear bushing to compensate for a front or center cam bearing bored off center, that's just plain bad practice. Replace the bearings or adjust your method of boring them to get them concentric with the OD. Reaming them to size in a bench vise is a good way to get them off center. They should always be bored...

There are several wood wheel rebuilders. They service T wheels. I'm not sure about TT wheels.
