I prefer to pull straight down on each wheel. Pulling the front axle forward can mess up your caster of your front axle.

As for longevity, I had my Model A chassis powder coated gloss black 20 years ago. It looks like it did when it was done, no lifting, and the nice gloss remains.

Wow Mike, that Sears pigtail horn is quite an arrangement. The scalloped horn on the 09 is the only one I've seen with the radial inlet tube...very cool, thanks for sharing these.

Ignacio, Lots of options. I have built five speedsters over the years. Cannot remember all the details of all of them. On one, I raised the bottom bracket enough that the upper (sideways) bolt went just over the top of the frame rail. I bent and bolted a flat steel (strap iron/bar stock) from one of the bottom bolt holes (the back one as I recall)...

I put 5:1 gear set & shaft from a 27 doner. No issues. Dropped right in to the original 14 gear case.

I talked with Steve at Lang’s and those pins are too short for the coups and sedans.
I think I’ll take Jeff’s advice and try the model A hinge pins. I’ve checked all the Model T parts suppliers and no one has them. I’m curious why they didn’t send me to the 28-29 model A pickup ?

I suppose if you were using bolts that did not thread up enough, you could have hit the nonthreaded portion before the head seated. Thus appearing tight. If your drive plate was machined thinner or the repop bolts didnt thread up enough. I do notice that of the 2 types of late drive late screws, the earlier, slotted type dont thread up as far as...

Did 2 such conversions. Noticed a single filiment bulb was extremely bright at speed. Used a double contact (lighting both) bulb. The 2nd one i worked on had a 6v single contact. It wasnt in service long. was burned out. Replace with a double contact 12v. 1157?

Danny, Since you don't have to adjust idle after you get it dialed in you could simply attach a wire or other method to prevent it from rotating until you find one of the barrel retainers. I didn't realize those round barrel types are so fragil.
