Yesterday, I saw an imported car with the darkest blue/black paint I've seen on a modern car. I believe it was an Infinity. I'm willing to bet this is close to what Ford used.

One thing to remember about a stock TT at least is, you better LOVE to go slow!! I mean like 18 mph slow!
Hopefully you'll at least latch on to one with the faster rear end gears, I forget what the ratio is. Others will tell you. Good luck and have fun!

I have the Guinn wooden bands on my ‘26 T Coupe. If the T drives fine in low gear but will not pop into high gear when the car gets up to speed and the pedal is released, would you say the clutch band is too tight? Jim Patrick

I am looking for a not too expensive cover for my Lizzy.

Should fit when top is folded down and windshield is flipped back to the steering wheel.

Needs to be soft inside to not scratch or rub the paint off.

Can't figure out why this is bored into the engine side of the this firewall....what's it for? It is only 5/8's deep and it does intersect the mixture control rod that passes through that slant drilled hole. Finally finished most of the running gear and directed my focus to my roadster body - only to discover a former owner had pop-riveted patch panels along the entire length of both side of the body (firewall to back of bucket) to cover up rusted out panels and (unfortunately) a significant amount of the subframe is also rusted out or paper thin…...

Either Grade 5 or 8 bolts will carry more torque than the block will likely survive if you want to plow that into it.

The stretch that that bolt underwent leads me to believe that it is a common Grade A that was severely over torqued for it's spec and may never have actually put that full torque into the block...thus the block threads surviving...

I have just replaced a faulty aftermarket clutch with a NOS Watts clutch which was made when Mr. Watts had that business. I have used several Watts clutches in the past and had no problems with them. I always set them up using the 13/16 measurement under the fingers, and that always worked out fine, within 1/2 turn or so. I installed this clutch...

Sounds like the spring cup hasn't got the pin in it's locating spot.
Reducing the pin height on the push ring will do nothing, for what is removed is replaced by screwing in the adjusters to put the clutch shift ring back to the 13/16 clearance and put the spring exactly as is now.

Ah, Yes, the one cylinder Brush. Not often seen in the closed car version. The coil springs are a giveaway.
This gives a good look at the wooden front axle. The frame is also wood.

I have a steel, high radiator shell for sale. It has tapered mounting brackets which I believe makes it is for a high radiator. It has a mixture of black paint and surface rust. I don't see any rust out, cracks, or missing pieces. I am asking $125 plus shipping.

Waiting for me when i got home, thanks to Calimers wheel shop. Now I would like to stain these black, what have you guys done that finishes well, oil/water based ect.

A contrast to the Model T Ford in its heyday was The Cole Aero-Eight. From 1915 to 1925 Cole featured a V-8 engine car in a variety of body styles. I find it interesting how much more sophisticated other cars were in the same era. Somehow it puts things in perspective and I appreciate the Ts just that much more.

I think I have seen vacuum gauges on Montana 500 dashes in the past. If not has anyone run a vacuum gauge on there model T and know what the vacuum is under acceleration? I know this changes with altitude just looking for ball park figure from hard acceleration to WOT.

Today, I got a set of door and window shim sets at Lowes for about $6.00 and they make excellent coil shims.

With them still sealed tight with plastic wrap, I cut the pack in two at the middle with a miter saw.

Then cut each section in two off center, so I had 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch wedges.

Then made the ends slightly smoother on my belt sander,...

Now I understand. It's a colibox shim, not a coil shim. Proper arches in the coil box contacts will do the same. The only shim I have ever used on a coil is a couple of washers under the contact posts to compensate for crushed wood on the top, so I couldn't get my head around wooden shims for that application.

I am looking to buy Wheel Dollies to move my vehicles around the garage. I'll either be moving my '28 A or '26 T or '55 Chevy truck. When the rating says it's good for 1,000 pounds is that at each wheel? Would 4 of them hold up a 3,000+ truck? Or do I need ones rated for the total weight of the truck?

I believe the wheel dolly ratings are per wheel. 4 dollies rated at 1,000 lbs each would probably do to move a 4,000 lb truck on a smooth, flat floor. Keep in mind that most pickups are nose heavy when unloaded. A typical V8 pickup weighing around 4000 lb might carry 2700 lb on the front wheels and 1300 on the rear wheels, or 1350 lbs on each...

I need to adjust my headlights upward. When using a plumb bob, they are about 1/4 out of adjustment. I know there is some special tool that Ford created to do bend that thick bar, but I don't have one. What have other done to adjust their headlights (up or down - not left/right) Thanks.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended using an old 30 inch pipe wrench to adjust the headlights. I was able to get enough leverage to bend the bracket. I did end up with a couple of tiny paint scratches that were easily covered up with touch-up paint.

That could be what's going on. Guess if the 4th main is leaking really bad, engine oil could fill the housing between the back of the engine and transmission, then leaking through the transmission main input shaft bearing. But that would be a good amount of oil to do so. A weep hole in the front nose of the mount should take care of that. The 4th...

Here we go with that firewall again. The drawing shows ⅜ holes for the two bolts and calls for T-7255 body bolts without giving the bolt size. The bolts used when this car was assembled in the seventies are ⁵⁄₁₆ . I'm assuming that the ⁵⁄₁₆ bolts are wrong and they should be ⅜ , but I'd better check and be sure. I've found plenty of incorrect...

A friend just bought some farmland that included several buildings full of stuff. I liked the design of this sausage grinder, using 2 steering wheels to make a pulley for the belt to ride in and the gear reduction slowing things down. Mashed a bit too hard on my starter switch today. Good thing i had a spare.... bent, loose and wobbly. It shorted out and the arc sound was spectacular. Did a bit of welding.....
