I have one of the exhaust pipes that Original Smith made a couple of years ago.

I remember reading that it used a somewhat different exhaust manifold than the traditional one the vendors carry.

Does anyone have an exhaust manifold that this exhaust pipe will work with?

A young member whom is disassembling a T engine called and asked if there were ever a spacer disk at the transmission & crank union. He described it as looking factory with holes in it aligned with the bolt holes on the crank. Any ideas?

This is a very early 1909 exhaust manifold with the large part number 512. It has been repaired and has a 1.5” crack leading from the old repair. I definitely can be repaired, this is a very rare manifold. It is warped about 1/16”. $85.00 plus $20.00 shipping. Kdmks AT att.net.

I got my first model T running two days ago. It’s a 1911 with an original coil box. When I turn the key from battery to mag I get a spark plug type shock. Is that normal?

Yesterday 10 early Fords left New London and traveled 125 miles to New Brighton. I am happy to report all 10 crossed the finish line. 2 -04 model A, 1-model N, 1-model R, 2-model S runabout, and 4-model S roadsters.

I recently obtained an original copy of the Hyatt Roller bearing catalog covering the period from 1897 - 1916.

In it, Model T Ford axle bearings are listed as part number 16080 for the RH side of the car and 16079 for the LH side.

I wonder why Ford specified different part numbers for the two sides, perhaps the rollers are wound in different...

I dont know too much about Model T coils but from what I understand when checking a coil and you find the primary or secondary windings are damaged that the coil is not rebuildable.
I noticed that Snyders and Langs and maybe others sell the secondary and primary windings. Does this mean I can use these to rebuild those non-rebuildable coils ?...

Probably about a year ago, my 26 began to have starting difficulties. By a stroke of luck, or divine intervention (I choose the latter), I was able make contact with Doug Hauge. My 27 coupe has run poorly for a number of years. I had the fuel tank cleaned and sealed by a shop in Omaha, before running it for the first time. ( shop is no longer in business).
It ran great for about two years but started to lose power.
I replaced the pistons, put in new valves, with no or little difference.

I had to take my head off to check for a blown gasket. After cleaning it up and putting it on, all of the bolts torque to 45 ft lbs (Z head) except for the bolt that held the horn on. I even tried leaving off the horn and the bolt tightens down past finger tight, but beyond that it keeps spinning and never fully tightens up. What can I do?

So the first thing I noticed is that the hubcap was filled with grease. Not sure this is necessary. So my first question is: Do you have to have all the grease in the hubcap and all over the nut?

Just scratching through the spare block department looking for a useful 26/27 one.
This is a candidate but without a serial number. ( Aussie Serial Numbers are generally preceded by C xxxxxx from Canada factory)
I understand that unmarked blocks were used as replacements and that the service agent was supposed to stamp the number of the block...

So my brother said that old grease (from the 60's and 70's) mixed with modern grease can have a chemical reaction that can cause the grease to become corrosive and damage the wheel bearings. I know all the old should be cleaned out anyway but if that's true and you don't get it all out.........Any thoughts?

It was a good opportunity to wipe the dust and oil from our 1907 Buick this year. We didn't drive it at all last year. The chain drive and two cylinders make it a nice contrast to the model Ts. Other than a model T Speedster there were no cars before 1927 and few restored cars.
