Even though Ford used 777's from the factory, I have found 888's to be a perfect replacement, and less weight too.

Then the shaft change applies to the early style drum that requires the distance plate & 26 clutch disks.
That makes sense & has nothing to do with the hat to 3 washer change done in early '20.
What is perplexing is the lack of documented change to the clutch hub, done in early '20, coinciding with the thrust washer change.

Russ Furstnow makes an excellent copy of the leather spring pads.

So, using a ready made wedge will dictate where the column ends up sitting. That seams a little backwards to me.

My Duncan and Fraser built wide body roadster came with a lowered steering column which was also displaced outwards, from the factory where it was built. Having done a few, no doubt they could make the wedges beforehand, ready to go....

I don't think Evans is well-suited for Model Ts. (?)

Maybe the 3/16 laminated glass is for flat side windows in modern cars, anything to reduce weight and cost. As indicated, for windscreens, 1/4 is the rule.
Most of our colonial built T bodies have steel channel frames and the glass bedding is thin fabric like hide-em welting.When I have windscreen glass fitted I have the glass fitted with bedding...

I don't think the line across the radiator on the touring is a fender brace. It appears to be attached to the radiator shell. I'd guess it's an accessory or owner added item for the purpose of retaining a lower radiator winter front to prevent the radiator from freezing in cold weather. It evidently isn't for mounting a license plate.

Marty, I have a 26-27 rear end, driveshaft and radius rods I’d sell for $80. It’s on a farm just north of New Braunfels so you’d have to drive nearly an hour to see it. I’ll be there tomorrow (7 Feb) morning…and it would have to be rebuilt

You can heat seal the edge of synthetic fabric so it doesn't fray by holding it taught and quickly running the edge along a candle flame. I watched my sister do this years ago when she was making a down vest with a nylon fabric shell.

On Youtube, there are also how-to videos on how to heat seal the edges of synthetic fabric using a soldering...

Thanks Dan. Now here is where things are confusing to me. Tim above mentioned his #1 Top Socket was 25 in overall length. My new reproduction #1 Socket is 26 overall. (My 1915 Socket is 25 ). Tim shows a measurement for the #1 Socket & Bow at a total length of 36 . According to Dan's post, the amount of the bow protruding should be 6¼ ...which...

I already started the welding and filing process on the pedal cam, but the last two posts present viable, inexpensive solutions. Thanks for those.

A few comments: 1) If you are reaming the rear bushing to compensate for a front or center cam bearing bored off center, that's just plain bad practice. Replace the bearings or adjust your method of boring them to get them concentric with the OD. Reaming them to size in a bench vise is a good way to get them off center. They should always be bored...

I haven’t seen the easiest solution mentioned yet. I remove the spare tire on my ‘26 roadster. Only takes a minute. That gives you much better access to the battery and you can easily lift it with a strap.

With the firewall and rear mounting frame in place, use stiff cardboard to make a pattern that fits the two components. That will give you the shape you need to cut in the steel sheet. Custom made for a custom fitment. No need to follow a plan .

Anyone had trouble with 3095 plugs leaking compression at the top metal crimp where it contacts the porcelain on the OD?

Yes ,compression and unburned fuel , that is why I quit using them. The 1's made in the USA didn't do this, but the last set i bought were mexico made and they leaked between the porcelain and metal. I found some nos AC spark...

I can not give you a quick answer because what I think you are building is around 10% (guess here) of the speedsters built.
That makes getting information harder.
I don't know what is in your head so I can only give you areas to look and maybe something will stick.

Most I have seen use a setup like a '15-'16 firewall to cowl...

I will be attending again this year. I recommend this swap meet. I see potential for it growing each year. I did very well last year. Both buying and selling. For the first year to have the prewar added to the existing swap meet, I think it went very well. Kevin and his crew did great. As to the set up dates and time. It is a Thursday Friday...

2-ear knockoffs like this? Someone made these some years ago. Fit Buffalo and House #3, Model T size. Just 2 pieces, one right, one left. Chrome plated. Threads are sharp and snug, not wallowed out like many originals. Appear to have been used, but barely. There were more made, so maybe someone else will have another pair available. / Tim

Metallurgy may differ. Plates that have been bent and straightened will be somewhat hardened, which may affect their magnetic behavior. Soft steels magnetize easily, but will not hold magnetism well. Harder steels and steel alloys will hold magnetism. Field pieces uses in association with permanent magnets are usually very soft steel.

32-(4 * 2)=24 inch rim. Sometimes metric tubes overlap sizes. Call Coker, they will make sure you get the right size tubes

Bottom line you'll only find them with some luck.
Original Boyco's & such can still come up for sale like here or Ebay, or be found in antique stores, swap meets, etc. Just keep your eye out, but they tend to be very pricey.
There had been some reproduction 'Boyco' copies made years past, but no longer. I actually snagged the last display set...
