Matt. We have about 10,000 miles on our T. All in the Ozarks of Arkansas. We use the Texas T oiler and stock T inside oiler like a lot of the others mentioned. Now our mountains are not as big as the Rockies and Sierras but we are mostly off road and even run trails with the Jeep guys. So we are climbing steep grades on gravel and working the crap...

Perhaps you were getting low on lubricant? I haven't heard of that happening to a Ruckstell. They are almost indistructical.

That makes good sense John, but, it would only apply to demountable wheels. Our Canadian Cars came with 30 x 3.5 tyres all round. Were there 3 demountable rims on wheels in the USA?

And we keep on touring. This time we went over the bridge and across the pond (bay) . 4-lane RTE 2 which squeezed down to one lane each way over the bridge to our exit wouldn't ya know. :lol: We managed! After our lunch at the lighthouse it became a one hour car show.

Conroe is very hit and miss. In general, very few Model T parts. It has become much more of a flea market post Covid. I’ve found some decent items over the years, but be prepared to wade through Lots of common SB350 & 4x4 stuff.

2025 Speedster Rally is June 11-14 where they hold the covered bridge tour.

That's an impressive lineup! It's fascinating to see the evolution of car design over such a span of time. The Packard must really stand out next to the other two. And those high-quality mirrors sound like a smart upgrade for your vintage ride.

Be careful about driving very far with them slightly dragging. It could heat up the hub enough that your axle grease softens to the point of escaping around the seal and making a royal mess inside your hub and dripping down your wheel. Don't ask me how I know.... ;)

Thanks for the advices.
I tried to measure the inside diameter of the axle housing. It was the standard size, about 2,21 inch. I hammered the bearing out with an old axle shaft. Modern Bearing is removed and housing is ready for original sleeve and Hyatt Bearing

Mark, that cleaning vinegar that I have is 30%. Household vinegar is 5%.

I know what you mean! However, photo number two also appears to be a 1914, but with a louvered hood.

Another give away for the coil is whether the slide off side has two small nails to hold it in place or a staple.

I always use the new ones in transmissions builds, especially if the customer requests a turbo or other modern lining clutch. They are not that expensive and good insurance.
