Look at the flywheel ring gear! In my opinion the missing insulation is the nat sitting on the trunk of the elephant in the room. The much bigger problem, are the teeth worn so much on the flywheel. And what all that metal in the oil has done to the babbitt. ???

I actually source most of my parts direct from US dealers. The local NZ dealer also buys his stock from the same sources as well (it costs more to buy local, but they have stock on hand when you need it quickly). I do not recall which dealer the soft sleeves came from (they were bought a while ago).
I note US based folk have had the same problems....

I have only worked on my own engines for the last 8 years, so not much terribly broad experience for quite some time. Stipe's 280 responded very well to standard 7 1/2 degree advance in my '23, but lots of research tells me that this combo would benefit from dialing back some, thus my recommendation to contact Dan for a different gear with less...

I bought the Lazzars rebuild set. I've started disassembly. The ram comes out as a unit. I took it to the auto paint store to get the paint color matched.

A point you might want to think about. Most of these old units, the shaft and bushings/body are worn. With wear, you change your cylinder firing as the shaft wobbles and the air gap between the cap and rotor changes. A car putting around at 35 or less, might not be much of an issue, but ideally you want that gap to stay pretty close to the same...

Thank you George, this is to go on my fathers bitsa he built in the late 50's as a kid. You can deflect the fronts with a bit of knee. It is a glorious collection of parts. Probably has round fellows, but not being picky. If a nice set can be found, I'll be happy.

NO these are the correct 12-32 OR 7/32-32.
Ford Model T catalog shows 7/32-32.
See attached info below.
Note that the 2 sizes are only 2 thousandths different and do directly interchange.

The adjustment shouldn’t change the pitch of the tones, that’s determined by the length of the tubes. I personally think it was made this way to circumvent patents. Very cool!!!

Wanted 26/27 emergency brake cam levers

The USA last month of 1925 engines for the original block was the end of June 1925.

The USA 1926 Model Year started on 3 August 1925 with the new blocks that had the ears on the transmission, but the July month of 1925 had the 1926 engine blocks with the transmission ears and coil box on top.

When Canada made the change is not well known.

The gentleman in the first photo must have really long legs.

You need to make a leather or felt gasket for the bottom of the rim nuts. As I recall, I used an 11/16 punch for this, and you need a 3/8 for the center hole.

Rubber tipped needles need a small clip that attaches the needle to the float tab. These clips were used on most all oem production carbs. Without the clip viton tipped needles will eventually stick. Sometimes tapping on the bowl with the wood end of a hammer will jar it loose.

It may be that the rather elaborate, gabled structure on the T chassis was never intended for serious road travel. Buses and vans look the way they do for several practical reasons. A house car of any size meant for travel and camping would have required a TT chassis, and would have looked similar to a van/bus.
