I used plywood for the 1919 on my car deck instead of using the wood slats as original. That was over 30 years ago as it was a piece of cabinet grade plywood. I’ll bet Ford would have used a single sheet of plywood if it was cheaper and readily available. Anyway it’s held up well.

Be sure to get a coil that is for points ignition, not for electronic ignition, as the Amperage of the coil for electronic ignition is too high and will fry the contact breaker points.
As you are using an old distributor i asume your car is still 6Volts, most 6Volt coils are not available for electronic ignitions.
If your car is 12 Volts be sure...

Replaced the 27 touring my wife regretted selling and drove it home (about 90 miles total) over the weekend with high winds for most of the trip. I think she likes it and wont let anyone talk her out of it this time.

Beautiful Tudor! I’m sure you have thought of this, but I will suggest it anyway. The title should have the prior owner(s) name, the date sold/bought and the place of the sale. Even if it is a new title, with only the seller you bought it from, the seller on the title should have records in their files of the estate or person they obtained it from...

I posted these two short videos. Catsup, a treatment I'd heard about, wasn't very useful. The poultice I tested, however, did a nice job of removing heavy oxidation. Followed up with buffing, the part polished up nicely.

It says The Swan Carburetor Co Cleveland Ohio USA . It is greasy sawdust. The gentleman who had passed was a wood worker. Buzz saws and other belt driven stuff.

That’s a neat little car Jeff. Did the original builder build any more or just the one car? Would be interested in hearing more about it. Is it a complete car? What is the track and wheelbase ? I am restoring my 13 Zip cyclecar and another old car friend is in town is restoring his ‘14 Scripps Booth.

i will check to be certain , but the laminated shim is .016 thick ... being 8 .002 shims total ... in theory a single .002 shim is removed from 1 side of the cap to effect a .001 adjustment ... if a smaller increment is needed a person may lap the caps ... i will lap with wet 180 sandpaper on a precision surface ( lapping block) ... hope...

The Freeway has on and off ramps, the Highway has streets that intersect with it (not ramps), and the expressway has fewer streets intersecting (with stoplights).

The majority of these are original branded SCANDINAVIA & I always check them for smell as in musty - I don't buy those - these in my stock are all prefect to run. I've collected them for many years.
