Later hex head retainer bolts were in the block when painted....hense, the hex pattern.
There is no room for a jam nut with the correct bolts.

I think it may have been bodied in Buenos Aires. The top bows are unique, or at least where they mount to the body, plus the rear doors seem wider than usual. The radiator apron is also unique. Interesting.

Don't make the mistake of going too cheap- spend a little more to get a good image. Mine is mounted in the center of the rear bulkhead.

Here's a sketch of the other bracket before I flattened it.
Unfortunately, the steel frame is 1 from back side of the face to the mounting surface of the bracket but the aluminum one is one 3/4 . This means the slider (swing arm) connecting the windshield frame to the A-pillar won't fold up, unless this second bracket is modified. I guess I cannot...

Any of the race car bodies weren t the easiest or most comfortable to get into and out of. i have a Studebaker racer that was built in the 20s and its comfortable but it’s hard to get in and out of it. But that’s the nature of the car. It’s still an exciting drive.

I restored two pair of three rivet 1915/'16 front fenders before I acquired my four rivet pair.
And, believe me, All four of those fenders I restored were in far worse condition than this one is! They are not near perfect, but now look fine from a few feet away.

I do admire and truly appreciate Rootlieb's reproduction fenders! They are very well...

I took the inoperable map light off my '26 dash and got a weather proof
modern button (20 amp) and a fuse. The button fit perfectly in the pre-existing
map light hole. The repro switch I have had no spring back feel to it. The
repro switch is on a shelf. I can change it back to stock easily if I
choose.

I can only speak for the Suncoast area of Florida. I live less than a mile in on the dirt side right where that little hump jutting out to the Gulf is on the Pinellas Cty map due west of Tampa. The ad makes it sound like it's your car and the issues that you have driving it. Is it yours or someone else's? Just curious, it's a great car for the money.

The ad is written by and signed by, Greg Hahs, (the owner), and posted by Tom Zimmer, (the friend of the owner, and Forum member).

I think whitewalls or blackwall tires change the equation. I prefer a lighter color wheel with black tires and darker wheels with whitewalls to really make them pop.

That little ground wire problem has failed frequently and given the TrueFire a bad name.

The other most common problems are a weak battery, a battery ground wire problem, or poor cables.

Measuring less than 5 Volts at the starter terminal with the engine being turned over is also a major problem.

What a fantastic group of speedster photos! And I am fairly sure that none of them are ones I have seen before?
First of particular interest, are a few duplicating cars however.
Photo number five has a neat tractor, and two speedsters lined up. The middle speedster can be better seen right below it in photo number six, a pretty sharp looking car!...

I use 888's in all of my cars. A little lighter than a 777. Keep in mind, Dill and Bridgeport also made these, but have different numbers. The TR number is the same.

Tom - genius idea. Yes the curl is above the header, in either position.
I would just need longer screws to go though the extra material.

Actually, the hinge is not deep enough to even reach the screw holes in the header, none of them. Aluminum piece is flush against the header face. It should have never have had...
