Not for an specific application but a tool like this knock out set have probably always been around for making nice round holes in sheet metal.

I know exactly what you are talking about. We attended the Cruisen the Coast week long event on the Mississippi Gulf coast last October, that had over 9,000 registered cars.
Our '15 was the oldest registered car on the street. We attended several car shows, and the 1915 was VERY popular with the onlookers.

Sounds like your shiftlock spring is too tight?
What shifter do you have? The late unit has a long casting. On the end is a slotted plug with a spring under. That plug can be backed out some to detention the spring or remove.
If its an earlier unit, you can remove it, disassemble & replace the spring.
If someone before you messed with it there...

Ok Harvey. I would advise waiting for the hottest day of the year. This will allow the most/ easiest stretch in the material. If you can hang it over a rail in the meantime, and hook up some weights on each end, that will reduce shrinkage. When it comes to refitting it, tack it to the front bow, having mounted it on the side body brackets first....

I have a Lincoln 3-speed for my TT, but have not installed
it yet. These period aix. transmissions have straight cut gears,
and are known to whine. I liked the idea of putting that noise
out back by the rear end, rather than up front by the cab. My
truck is loud enough already !

It may be a passenger car transmission modified for non-automotive use. I've seen a number of old, line-shaft driven machine tools set up to run off an electric motor thru an old car transmission to give a multi-speed drive.

In reference to the other bright lights on the car. When I was restoring my car in 2020 there were a lot of parts that were hard to find so some of the parts I picked were by availability, but they work well. As for the tail/brake lights I used a light from a 1919 model T and replaced the bulbs with the brightest 12v LED running/brake light...

Babbitt is the way to go. If you use inserts, it would be best to also have a pressurized oil system, but to do that, you would need to drill the crankshaft. The bearings on a T crank are also small and the drilling would weaken the already weak crankshaft. With a new Skat crank, the babbitt bearings would wear for a long time and only need small...

Too late to change the cab wood now.............The top wood I had duplicated 7-8 years ago from what was on the truck. It was in good shape except for the slats. I assumed it was original. Anyway, I am making the canopy wood following the same pattern as the cab wood. This time chicken wire. I will probably redo the cab also.

Hope someday all us inquring minds learn the asking price of it. ;) :shock: :lol:

I dug around in my parts and found a nice clevis. Fitted it a bit then set it to the same length as the one I took out. Seems to work ok. I will do some adjusting when the wheels are back on.

In 1922 Stanley made two distinct models, the 735 and the 740. Most 735s used 26 wheels and most 740s used 23 wheels, but time has a way of slipping different parts onto cars, so who knows what size are on the car.

Further, Stanley used lock-ring style rims, not split rims. Still, who knows what is on the car now.

That was an 816, not a 813 and now I know a Gates 816 is 28 7/8th inches long and will fit a 1916 to 1918 with a larger crankshaft pulley.
