I turn wood on my lathe occasionally--however, it's pretty specialized turning; apple and manzanita to make bearings. Many uses for such bearings, the ones I made were used for Theatre Pipe Organ swell shades.

Erik, I understand your frustration as I, like Ed, am a 7-5/8 (how many guys even know their hat size?). Hard to find specialty hats in that size--my Top Hat was a chance find at a swap meet.

That doesn't appear to be a factory stamping, at least from the low resolution picture you sent. I can see part of the casting date at the right side of the picture, a 4, meaning April.

the Caswell brush plating kit will re-copper oil cans beautifully. The one I did is put away or I'd take a picture of it. You do have to de-grease (de-oil?) the can to make it work, and when I did it, the plating looked spotty, but a quick lick of liquid polish evened it out.

Well, mine's pretty simple, it's me in a '15 touring, much like my '16 touring (that is not yet finished) back in 2011 on a trip to Yosemite. On the old forum my avatar was a picture of Linda & I on the Delta Queen steamboat, back in 2008. So my avatar is a LITTLE more up-to-date.
