Re: Spare Tire Carrier Heresy

You need the carrier directly above this post. No need to put holes in your fender. Hopefully the three holes are underneath your body where this carrier is positioned. I have this carrier on my 1920 and I believe 1924 is the same. If the bracket for the light doesnt cover up the tail light portion ...

I would presume you need to test a magneto horn on an HCCT. I looked at my Lionel transformer and because that puts out AC. However, one is 18V AC and the other is 21V AC. Can you test a magneto horn with the transformer or is the voltage too high?

Could you show us a picture of the engine where the carb goes? It might fit. You only need to $1.95 gasket kit to rebuild it unless the needle is bad. That's only $20. You can make it work without needing the swivel for that year. I rarely adjust my carb.

Re: Rear inner brake band help

The previous owner did it correct. You need to use tubular rivets and the heads are on the outside. The brake material is countersunk to hold the heads and then you use a rivet tool to spread the rivet on the inside of the brake.

Re: What type of tool do you need to measure the size of a 4th main?

Scott, all looked good but I put in some Ultra Black to make it better. That should help. Scott and Jerry I was advised to try using tapered feeler gauges to see how the fit was. I was able to slide the 0.004 feeler gauge between the 4th main and the tail shaft. I had to work to get the 0.005 feeler...

I was at Fleet Farm yesterday and gave a young man a ride around the parking lot. He asked for my card. Maybe some day I will hear from him, and maybe not. Only took 5 minutes of my time. I have even given rides around a gas station. YOu never know. Dallas gives rides to the Amish all the time, but ...

Re: 1927 Tudor comes to its new home

That rear bearing should not stick out like that. Something is not correct. Hopefully it has nothing to do with the differential. Frame looks good. Wheels look great. Do you have hubcaps? They are in short supply. You need the service manual, engine book, and transmission book. Then you are on your ...

Ryan You want a T that runs. I would recommend replacing the wood in that cool box with the plastic kit. Using that old wood will just give you problems down the road. However, keep all the other parts. They are just fine and the flexible strips inside the box are most likely the correct metal to ma...

No, no, that does not sound right. If and when you receive your service book you can look at Chapter X, cleaning oil line. There is also a picture. I think if you remove a bolt from the crankcase you for sure will get oil to drip all over your floor. I know it entails removing the radiator, but that...
