A short cut to having a brass quadrent is to use a newer style that was nickle plated and polish the nickle off.That is what I did on my pickup project steering.

Where are they put together? I cleaned each 1 and they seem to be seemless all the way.I had read about a 2 peice valve but these are made like a old briggs and stratton valve. Can someone show me a picture of the joint in the valve?

Ok,I have put the rods to the crankshaft,torqued to 30 pounds. A peice of news paper siezes them,remove it and the rods are free to move.I think that is close.Each of the rods has .020 in shims.only 1 rod,number 2,did i have remove about .002 or so to keep it like the others. When I got up this morning I realized I had not mentioned that I had used the rebabbited rear main from Jack Daron I got years ago and the 2 others were the mains that were from the block originally.

Well,I watched a couple of the videos. I saw how they turned the crank checking it for tightness and such. The method of measureing I think was my issue.My calipers are cheapos. I have time saver to but just piddleing last night with the front main, it tightened up and it is just the very outer edge near the inner edge of the crank that is contacting,it would take alot of timesaver to get all that down. If the crank is turned,that automaticaly means a repore on the bearings...

Well I would check first to make sure he made it negitive ground.Some folks still think T's are positive ground. Then I would connect a 12 volt battery to the starter switch and ground and not to the rest of the car,use it's battery and ignition switch,see if the engine turns good with the 12 volts ...

Yea,it is not the money value,I know sometimes some stuff is hard to find. Like fenderskirts for my 47 Pontiac. :(
Chances are it is going to the sandblaster along with fenders and what not and it will be repaired and used for this application.

My dad forgot to retard the timeing on his 58 Duoglide,it reminded him when he went off and over yonder and had to get up off the ground.!

I want to replace some wrist pin bushings in the cast pistons of a 26 engine.I just bought the bushings on Ebay for 20 bucks free shipping. I am reading about a reamer is not good and honing to fit is best. Is this done with a brake cylinder hone or what?

see If these show up ok. At the moment it has not been run in over a year and had fuel system issues.Lean to shed has not kept it clean,it is really dirty and I am going to have really work hard at cleaning it up .I want to get it back clean and driveable again.

Sadly that is the truth.There is no way of keeping peoples eyes on the road and not on their Iphone 12's or whatever the latest fade is at the moment.There is videos on Utube of people jumping out of their rolling cars and dancing then trying to get back in or dancing while driving somehow to music....

The way i look at it no,you shouldn't.Or it should be the same rate as your state and sent to your state.
Around here the countys have a little extra tacked onto the tax rate.And the parts house ask for my zip code after the price was quoted and it went up 2 cents because my countys tax was higher.
