Re: Firewall

Eric, there is no "early" and "late" '23. If it is a low firewall (radiator) it is a '23, if it is a high firewall (radiator) it is a '24. This myth has been debunked on here many times, kind of like the "commercial" and "car" front fenders, this myth has also been debunked. The vendors for some rea...

Re: Cleaning

Our "mostly" original '25 coupe still has a lot of the 90 year old paint, grease and dirt on the running gear, and it's going to stay that way. Dave :)

Re: Langs

I still have a pair of TT hubcaps that I bought in 1964 from an add in Hemming's that were "NOS", and when I got them, the nickel plating was very ruff, even though they were brass. I was very disappointed. That being said, I kept them and in the mid '90's, I had them replated in nickel at a shop in...

Re: Langs

Rich, you sure did bring back some memories. I remember a lot of those guys advertising in Hemming's back in the mid '60's. I was in my early teen's back then and couldn't afford much, but me and my best friend for 53 years sure spent a lot of time reading and dreaming of things back then. :) Dave

Re: Jack Rabbit or Turbo 400?

What Stephen said. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Contrary to what has been posted on here as gospel, the original clutch can be adjusted to achieve a free neutral, that has been posted on here many times, just do a search. If you want a robust/tuff clutch, stick with the original one. JMHO Dave

And also how to tell the difference between right and left hand drive. You would think that an auction house as famous as they are could tell the difference.  Dave

Re: headlight socket

Carl, the socket may well be stuck in the headlight bucket from rust, most likely it is. After removing the focusing screw, I have had good luck soaking the socket and the bucket area with a good quality penetrating oil, NOT WD 40, that's not what it was designed for. Take a small dead blow hammer a...

Preston, not sure about the years on the axle, but the spring and perches are aftermarket. I've seen a lot of wheels like those at swap meets, but don't have any idea what they were for. Obviously, the T hubs have been swapped in. Dave

Re: What have you done to your Model T in July?

Dennis H., I don't think you are ready to assemble that wheel just yet. I may well be wrong, but from here your pictures appear to show a Kelsey felloe that uses loose lugs, and a Hayes rim, obviously with fixed lugs, kind of hard to tell from those pictures. They may go together, but they aren't ma...

FS TT Battery Box Holder Parts

FS Original TT battery box holder parts. Two of the strap box holders, one of the angle irons that mounts them to the running board and and running board brackets, and one of the battery clamp brackets that mounts on the running board mount, not sure which side it's for, I think it's for the right s...

Gary, I'll have to look. I usually pick them up when I run across them. Found a pair of the amber lights NOS still in the boxes a few years ago at an antique store. Dave

Re: NOT looking for a fight, just my “ethical” opinion venting…

I agree with Scott and Uncle Stan. I have been selling a lot of stuff on the classifieds in the last few years that I have collected over the past 55 years or so. I'm not doing it as a business, Lord knows that most of it goes for a lot less than I paid for it, but most of it I bought just because i...
