I hooked up the trailer to get some mulch. Now that winter is coming to a close I see the wire connectors are turning green. I know the salt did not help much either.

It is not a bad idea to leave the top petcock open when adding oil. Then leave the empty quart bottles on the floor of the car, or under the oil pan by the petcock, so you know you need to close the petcock before you ditch the bottles. This gives any excess oil a chance to drip out the top petcock.

If the road is wide enough, drive in circles to keep the car moving. The crowd loves it. Let the group behind you know that you will be doing this. They will hold back. If there is anyone throwing candy in front of you, watch closely. Kids will see an M&M in the middle of the street and never see you.

I think all the guys in the larger towns and cities have moved out. Your best radiator guys will be in smaller towns.
You just have to find them and I think it is usually word of mouth.

Re: Great Model T drives of the USA
My last trip I went from Milwaukee to Louisville to Detroit to Milwaukee. I woukd look at the route in the morning so I sort of knew the highways and towns. Then I put the GPS on bicycle mode. I ended up on a lot of country roads and through small towns. Only problem is where there are bike trails. ...

Re: Five ball carb question
So the balls in Rob's carb are 11/16" (0.688) and 5/8" (0.625), or is that just the size of the holes that the balls drop in to?
Jem's are 7/16" (0.435).
How many different sizes of 5 ball carburetors are there?

Re: Researching the 1909 Ocean to Ocean Race
Eric, You need to have a ride in a Model T just to see what they are like. I know you received a ride, but was it long enough to be called a ride, or just a tease. This will be easy for you to do come spring. Most Model T's have been put away for the winter out by you. Then you need a ride in a Spee...

38. That is not even cold unless it is windy. We have 2 guys north of here that drive their depot hacks all year. Of course they are wearing snowmobile suits, but the weather does not stop them. I would love to drive the touring back and forth to Menards, but the amount of salt they put on the roads...

Rob, , That brings up another point. How far was the Model K suppose to pilot the cars? Was it going to go on to Kansas City or Denver, if it went as far as Mexico? Was the repair in Mexico just enough to get the car able to limp back to St Louis? I have always wondered why they took a southern rout...

Re: 26 27 wire spoke wheels on a 25
I contacted the manufacturer of the smaller brake drum and asked if they could drill it with only 5 holes. This was not a problem. I installed the small drums on my wire wheels and life is good. No need to change the rear axle. If the manufacturer can no longer do that, ask them to sell you a couple...

One reason why I never shop at Walmart.
I bought a Toro snowblower because it is built in WI, so I am supporting an American worker.
I bought a Model T too. It was American made. I hope the parts I need to keep it running are also Made in America.

Maybe you will have to take it ro the Newport Hill Climb in October. I hope to be there this year. Standing start. Maybe you can set a new record for the hill.

Vintage Rims Australia says that they ship worldwide.
Vintage Rims NZ, I can find nothing about Model T parts even though their website lists Model T parts. Catalog appears all Model A.

I assume you do not do FB, but maybe you have someone in the family that could for you. Dairyland Tin Lizzies is close for you and maybe a member there would consider your offer. Or post on Model T Ford Club of Facebook.

Tim,
I thought you needed bearings. If you order races, you will be sadly disappointed. They are not interchangable.
9075 is the only item not available. This has been a problem for at least a year.

Rock Auto will notify you when 9075 is available. However, they have had to renew my request 2-3X because my request has been in their system so long. If I hear anything I will post it on here, but dont hold your breath. If I knew anyone at Timken I would ask. Might still be due to pandemic and supp...

I also have a Speedster. In some events you are required to have seat belts and a helmut. My helmut is made of leather and comes from an aviator catalog. Maybe you can take the hood off and take a few pictures to show them the engine and the firewall. Maybe you will have fewer questions. On the other hand, you might get triple the questions. Oh the things we do for an old pile of metal.

Looks great. I just screwed in a couple short lengths of 2x4 to use as stop blocks. Works great and removable if needed. Nothing fancy.

As of today the tires are 150 pounds each. 4 tires are 600 pounds or $707. That should be under the $800 limit before import tax. If they ship the tubes separately, may be best to order them separately so they are on another invoice. no import tax that way either. Do they add import tax on just the ...
