I like the gland and copper rings the best , It probably needs adjusting or just tightening. Sometimes you can just give them a wrap with a hammer and tighten them a little more to fix this type of problem. Also I use silicone to hold all the pieces in place and to help seal things while assembling....

Check your fans. This one was making a rattling noise that I suspected had something to do with the fan a week before it threw the blade. I broke the opposite one off to get back home. New fans are only $12.50. Some how it didn't hurt anything.

I figure that this must have been his first truck and he is selling it to up-grade. Probably put together from mostly nothing by someone very young. Mom and Dad was going to junk it out but he still see's some value to his artistic attempt at his first truck. Father and son project?

Dennis shows how much just parts cost. Just parts for Dads engine was in line with Dennis's estimate plus I put in a new scat crank. I didn't install a magring or new cam (advanced a good original 7 deg.)and I did my own starter and generator work. Just parts was right at $5,000

He has since donated the car to a museum. It has been decided that his Metz is one that went to the bottom of the Grand Canyon ...

As far as the outside oiler I did something similar. I drilled through the engine mount inline with the ring gear and brazed in a fitting. then on the front of the pan I drilled and tapped another fitting then installed a clear hose so I could see if it actually worked. 3/8" pipe fittings and 1/2" h...

Looks like you have something to start with, The bores look glazed,so it may have more miles that you think. Great time to look it all over. At least bead hone it and new rings. Check valves, adjustable lifters are nice. Make sure it has a good cam gear. I like the stock ones. They make better cams ...

Carson, Like mentioned, it may be in gear, It sounds like you know what makes it go, so you should know where neutral is, 1/2 to all the way back on the emergency brake lever. It looks like it fits in the press, just put a piece of tubing under the gear to space it up. The problem comes when you re-install it. Then the bed has to go far enough down to get the axle and the gear in between it.

I think the real reason that advertising was some what band was the problem that one vendor in particular, was inundating the form with adds. The same vendor was making surfing eBay for used parts almost impossible. The discussions would become covered up and people would get disgusted and no longer...

A lot of Model A guys are going with inserts with no mods to the oil system. Hi mileage is at 60,000+ miles. My race car has all insert bearings, only about 2,000 miles on it now. It is a must to keep clean oil in it!. Model A's have an oil pump, but not a pressured system. It floods the lifter area...

It could be a valve seal problem, at higher speed the problem would disappear. I would check out the intake manifold, carb gasket first. There are a few guys here that have installed led lights in their side lamps that was circular and had its own battery, I think they were from harbor freight. They didn't have to modify it them at all. It would work well if you are only using it for a tail light.
