Re: What have you done with your T Model in April ?

Met my local friend Bill and his wife for ice cream tonight too. Beautiful day and evening ! :D
No fires, but the line was around the building
Took my 44 year old Harley for a spin today also.
Got more looks in the T though. ;)

I have plenty of mouse droppings and oodles of dead stink bugs.
For the right price, I might throw in a raccoons nest. ;)

Probably worked fine....60 years ago.
I try to wire brush the threads on old crusty stuff before I attempt anything.

I have had gratifying thoughts of being alone in a room with an engineer and me with a bag full of nickels from time to time !!

Re: RADIATOR FLUSH PRODUCTS

As far as OTC radiator flush products....a total waste of time. Most are only a detergent and won't touch anything that will plug up a Model T radiator. Years ago, there was a 2 part acid flush with a neutralizer, but that's been gone for 50 years. But it worked !! I agree with removing the radiator...

I use an app called “speedometer simple by Tevfik Yucek”. GOS speed, average speed, miles per trip, nice big analog gauge and a digital gauge. Also a compass. And I generally get 20mpg or better with a 3:1 Ruckstel, Stromberg OF, HC head, aluminum pistons and oversized valves....on regular BP gasoli...

Re: Acetylene welding question

I assume you’re talking steel rod welding, although brazing is about the same.
If you get the metal or rod too hot, it will pop.
Staying in one spot too long or just too much oxygen can also get it too hot. Or too big of a tip for the metal thickness...lots of variables.

Re: Ruckstell won’t shift

Which style of shifter is on it ? Lack of lubrication internally can cause that - how was it shifting prior to "locking" up ? Have you tried to "do the dance" between the low & reverse pedals at the same time ? Sometimes that will do it as that is the best way to shift sitting still. I don’t unders...

Ignacio, I sent you the wheel and another email per your request. You should see it tomorrow or Tuesday.
I still have received no joy here. PayPal is good thanks, Dave
I was surprised that shipping was only $42 UPS.
I found a recent radiator box worked very nice.

Re: UPS is re-energizing swap meets

I use UPS only for larger bulky or heavy stuff.
USPS is generally cheaper for small parts, but you do take your chances.
Without a new purchase receipt, even additional insurance is useless. Not sure if UPS is much better.
Packaging is everything....

I just saw in the last picture, the part of the radiator I see looks a bit less than desirable.
Not saying that it’s your problem, but.
It doesn’t take very long running down the road under power to get hot with a poorly circulating radiator. But it should run ok, till it gets too hot.

I put my 24 on my lift today and changed/replaced the front spring shackles and bushings. Found the right perch was easy to turn and tightened the nut at the wishbone close to half a turn !
