Re: FS 1910 Model T Touring

The number, of course do not have to be perfect, but those I have seen are much nicer. Also the embossment seems rather deep. much deeper that those I have seen. Take a look at the 1910 Kim Dobbins sold and at the close up of the engine number (the second photo showing the number.) note how shallow ...

An interesting situation. My note is that on the several early Model T Fords I have owned and on those I viewed over the 70 years, the stamped numbers were all nice and straight and even in a line. Re: How did they decide the actual cessation date of Model T Production?

Some of the parts for the new Model A were in the works early in 1927 as found in the archives at the Benson Library. So I believe that the new Ford was being planned by January 1927 or late 1926. Edsel had long wanted to replace the Model T, but Henry resisted. Edsel suggested features for the new ...

The T pictured appears to be a "put-together" built around a 6 cylinder T engine. created in the 1920s. The engine block may date from the teens, but not the starter unit. The body is odd and does not look like one that Henry would have built for Edsel. Th top is a "make shift".

It is a 1909, 1910 or 1911. The rear end is later, 1913-14 or later. 21 cents in about 1914 would equal about $2 today.,my 1999 Mercury gets 20 mpg on cost of $2.75 a gallon. That is about 14 cents a mile, not accounting oil or insurance.

Re: 1927 Factory/Dealer Options

1926 was the last model year you could order or buy a Ford with NO OPTIONS. The T came with wood wheels, 30 x 3 1/2 and 30x 3 tires, black radiator shell, no starter or generator. I once saw an low milage original one and it was an unusal Model T.

Model Ts and Memorial Day

Take out your Model T Ford on memorial day. If it is one that was new or used in 1917-18, put an American Flag on or about it, in memory of those you served in "The War to end all wars" If it is later one, also have a flag on it to honor those you served ion later wars or conflicts. My 1910 Touring ...

Re: Automobile Salvage Joy Tx

Near Spicer Minnesota in the 1950-60s there was a 40 acre auto junk yard that had been there since the 1930s. The man name was Oscar Palm. He lived in a two room house. There were several out buildings including an old barn. The place was full on pre 1940 auto parts with some complete chassis and so...

Stan the man Was first class In all that he had done. Some was serious wok, But much was just for fun. It is unlikely than any of those young women are alive today, today is the birthday of a 111 year old lady here in Minnesota.. Being born in 1910, she would have been 17 if she was in that photo.

The last photo is of Independence Rock in Wyoming. I visted that rock in 1945 with my father when camping out looking for jade rocks, which I still have 200 lbs of. The 1027 Model T touring looks new. Nice set of photos, nice to list them as a tribute to Stan.

Lost my posting. I wanted to note that one can call their T anything they want to call it, for it does not change what the T actually is. A 1910 T is a 1910 Model from August 1909 to August 1910. I always said "the item speaks for itself". Call an item what you may, it does not change it. I know peo...

The rear end photo shows the style that was used in the late 1909 Model Year and was used in the early 1910s made in August of 1909.

I also wonder about the "rear end" housing. When was the stamped steel plainrear end discontinued and the 1910 style first used. The housing appears to be the 1910 model year one used until about late May 1910.

Re: 1909 Tourabout - Photos Added

It is interesting that there is a buggy rail on the front seat as a roadster would have. Could it have been that the tour-a-bout back section was added, perhaps soon after the T was built and delivered? If the tour-a-bout section was added at the body factory in Pontiac MI, it is indeed a "rare" Mod...

An interesting vehicle. Compare the , as found photo, with the rebuilt. photo. The tour about body is known as a 1910 model. This T was built in June, 1909. The resent photo shows numerous 1909 features. It would be interestingly know to what is original to this T and what was added or replaced. It ...

What is your favorite part of a Model T Ford?

For my 1910 Touring, it is the original headlights. They are Model 15 J Browns. They are almost perfect. The Ford name on top show little wear. They are straight and have nice original reflectors. Might sound silly of me to admire them, but they are one example of the craftamanship that went into th...

I always have gone by the Ford listing model year, the exceptiopn might be the 1914 style open Model Ts which where made in to 1915. I believe that the open Ts were made into February. The open style bodies were not ready well into 1915. The closed Ts for the 1915 model year were introduced and manu...

We all sometimes think of the car I should have kept and not sold. I have several in mind, 1965 Mustand convert, the 1932 B400, The 1909 right hand drive Model T Roadster and perhaps a few more (The 1918 Chev "hardtop" coupe is one.) What car should you have kept and not sold?

a 1300 higher number than my 1910 Touring./ Did anyone look up what to see this came out of? Has the original timer plate and original timer. There are a few 1910s out there with later engines. This would be a good fit for a 1910 that needs the correct block.

That is probably the smoke from a coal fired furnace. Cheap low grade coal would result in black or dark smoke. Anthecite or brickets would burn clean.
