I guess I am not very pure, but I am fairly new to T's. If it has a T block I consider it a T. I don't care if the head is original to the block, or a Rajo, or a Prus, or just a later year, if the block is a T it is a T. Same for the crankshaft and cam, they don't have to be original for me to consi...

I feel this discussion has been framed in the wrong way. It is not a matter of good-evil, either-or, etc. We should all appreciate what the purest of the pure do, take a vehicle back to being historically correct in every respect. If I am going to pay to have an engine rebuilt I will pay the extra bucks for a new SCAT crank. I want it right, I want it reliable, and I don't want a 100-year-old crank.

Driving a Model T is, to me, living as opposed to just driving a modern car. No top, no AC, no radio, no speedo, etc. It makes no sense on a certain level, so I cannot explain why I prefer it. There is something to be said for driving a vehicle which you basically understand the mechanics of and can...

Re: Obese, hell I didn't even think I was overweight
Losing weight — without exercise — and maintaining a healthy diet can cause Type 2 diabetes to go into remission and allow patients to stop taking medications, according to a study that challenges the long-held medical belief that the acquired disease is a lifelong illness. Published Wednesday in th...

living vs. existing
I came out of the gym and a couple walked by my speedster. The guy pointed to it and told the girl, that's living, not just existing, but living. I agree. A lot of the hum-drum things I have to do in life, like drive to the gym, are more fun if I drive a T. When you can make the hum drum enjoyable, ...

Any diet that works for you is good. But it is not a short term thing, it is the rest of your life. As we age our metabolisms slow down and we tend to be more sedentary. if you go back to your old eating habits after losing the weight, it will just come back. I blame my weight gain on my ignorace wh...

Re: Model T coil tester advice: HCCT, Strobo-Spark, ECCT
I'd go with the ECCT also except for one thing: If you're doing one set of coils I'd put my $ in a professionally done set. They last for years and your total outlay would be a wash as in get them done by a pro or buy all the stuff + the tester & do it yourself. Of course that's my 2 cents only. I ...

Re: New owner on LI of TT looking for mentors
Just that it adds a two speed option. Ruckstell is underdrive and 1:1, so it does not add any speed. You probably need it if you have the 5:1 rear, especially if carrying a load or if driving in a hilly area. I have a T with 7:1 rear and maximum speed of 15 mph. I am presently swapping the rear for...

While not everyone with type 2 diabetes is overweight, obesity and lack of physical activity are two of the most common causes of this form of diabetes. It is also responsible for about 90% to 95% of diabetes cases in the United States, according to the CDC. https://www.webmd.com/diabetes/diabetes-c...

A few years ago I got the problem under control when I decided that the fat thermostat is between my ears, and I'm the only one who can control it. It's simple arithmetic. Re: Restamping engine numbers
From a legal perspective, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, it appears to me that there is no law regarding the restamping of numbers on a Model T engine, and the engine number has nothing legally to do with the VIN. I think I will put my initials, month, and year of rebuild on mine since they don't ...

Those speeds are very much like a stock T. My TT has 7.25:1 gears in the rear and no auxiliary transmission. Since you always have to explain that the engine number is what the car is registered to, I stamp the original serial number on the frame rail under the floor on the pass side where they expect it to be and it was on later cars. Different states seem to have different rules. In Virginia you just ta...

Tom, A little digging turned up a 1:1.363 on a Warford Overdrive. I can't say they are all that, but it's what I found. Assuming yours is that, and you have a 5.167:1 rear end and 32" OD rear tires, I get the following: 800 rpm = 20 mph 1000 rpm = 25 mph 1200 rpm = 30 mph 1300 rpm = 33 mph 1400 rpm...
