Aware that the 26-27 hogshead accepts a magneto post assembly with a tapered half inch thread similar to the spark plug thread. The earlier magneto posts are held with three screws. Snyders offers all types, the early diamond pedal with the “B” or you can get similar with ribbed or Rocky Mtn cast on the pedal face. All brake pedals interchange ‘09-‘25 so will work with later hogshead with starter.

Re: Unusual Mixture control

This one is my fav. "Karfve" gas adjuster... Has a knob to twist and adjust the gas, and if you pull on the knob, it chokes the carb! Unique universal joint to make the angle from the dash, and a loop wire on the shaft to pull up the choke butterfly. Think Ford got the idea for the later NH carb co...

Try tightening the 4 starter mounting machine screws. They can work loose with starter torque. Or may be missing the needed lock washers, or gasket is shot. Check engine oil level too, needs to be below the top petcock.

If above isn’t the case, then worn starter bushings.

Replacing with new is much safer. T axles are now over 100 years old, and fatigued. And many do fracture at the keyway, from loose hub. Cutting a new key way 180 degrees away would induce more chance of fracture in such an aged used axle. MY 2 Cents. So nice to have new quality T axles made in Taiw...
