Re: I Really Like These Bohlen “Solid” Brass Aftermarket Side View Mirrors
Just heard back from the manufacturer, Bill. He indicated the mounting screws are 5/16 by 1 inch long, so they will fit well into the original threaded hole on the stanchions. I ordered a pair of black ones for my Touring; am anxious not to see how they will look.

This photo is of a friend of mine who recently passed away at the age of 76 climbing up into a Model T when he was a young boy. It is indicative of how long he loved Model T fords, but he was never able to acquire one until about a year and a half ago. Unfortunately after a little more than one yea...

They do look great, but I am not comfortable with having to drill and tap a hole in the stanchions on my 1924 Touring. Does anyone know if you have to do that or do they fit into the existing stanchion screw?

I finally got around to mounting the Blockley tires yesterday. They went on real easy, probably took only about 20 minutes per tire once I got the hang of it. I also used the Blockley metal stem tubes, which was ordered after getting the tires since they were not available through the vendors. Ther...

Steve, I know you realize the nut that the Schrader valve stem cover screws on to at its base must screw down the metal stem to the felloe, so if the Blockley metal stem is too wide, I do not think it will work. Re: Starter Switch Problem
Sorry guys, the yellow wire that comes from the starter loom sleeve is connected to the upper or inner connection point which goes directly to the battery. The black wire is the tail lamp wire that is part of the loom. Left hand connection (closest to the frame rail) is the starter loom with sleeve...

Re: Starter Switch Problem
I just connected up my starter switch to test and it started smoking after about 5 seconds. Starter turned over but slower than it should. I am wondering if my switch is bad or if my wiring is not correct. See photos.

Re: 1923-25 Coil Box Differences
Jeff, that may be a good question for the rebuilder. The metal portions were well done, the wood sealed, the contacts replaces and the connector strip replaced all with new. Correct me if I am wrong, but the critical issue is whether the wood will absorb moisture causing a short. I am spraying it a...

Re: 1923-25 Coil Box Differences
After dismantling the box, I found both wires running to the bottom contact plate. See photos. (There is a wire under the tape on the left for the ninth connector) Now if I remove the blue wire for the tenth contact and the connector that is all that is needed, correct? Re: 1923-25 Coil Box Differences
Mark, thanks for that information, it makes perfect sense, My box does not have a switch on the front as is for 1924 firewall, so I will dismantle and remove the tenth connector. Thanks to all who have taken the time to add input, I wonder how many people realize the ten verses the nine connectors,...

Re: 1923-25 Coil Box Differences
Steve, the original box I had was dinged up so I replaced it with a rebuilt one but did not expect to get 10 connectors instead of 9. This is the later style without the switch on the front so am trying to figure a way to make it work for me. Charlie, thanks for you suggestion, I will check that ou...

Re: 1923-25 Coil Box Differences
Thanks for chiming in here Original, the situation is that I purchased a rebuilt coil box which is for 23-25 era, however it came with 10 connectors instead of nine. My question is, what should I do with the tenth connector and wire to make this coil box work for me. The wire loom is the standard s...

What should be done with the 10th connector? Just disconnect the threaded screw from the box, then what about the wire that goes do it?

1923-25 Coil Box Differences
Recently I acquired the Coil Box G to replace an older one E that I had. I now realize a significant difference in the two. Both are supposed to be 1923-25 era but as you can see one has 9 contacts and the other 10. My steel firewall on my 1924 has only 9 holes for the 9 contacts on Coil Box E. Wha...

Re: Which Cowl Lacing set is correct for 1924?
Larry, I could not find in the Ford Service Manual where it talks about the cowl lacing size. It does have a few photos one of which shows the head of the rivet to be exposed to the outside. Another thing is the two sets from venders have either black or nickel rivets not brass. It seems that brass...

Re: Which Cowl Lacing set is correct for 1924?
Also like to mention that both sets came from vendors marked "Cowl Lacing" with rivets so could not be mistaken for radiator shell lacing

Which of the two cowl lacing sets would be correct for 1924 steel firewall? The one on the left is 3/8" the right is 1/2"

Thanks for the nice photos guys. Allan, sorry, I do not know about the engine mount difference if any on the TT. I was helping Julius Neunhoffer out on a project of his, but will ask him for you next time I see him.

Re: Advice Needed to Install Trans Cover
Thanks Thanks Allan for you advice. The RTV sealant directions say to assemble the parts within 5 minutes. There seems to be a lot of steps here and I am not sure about being able to do that the first time without practice. I believe I will attempt a couple of practice without sealant to see how lo...

Re: Advice Needed to Install Trans Cover
Really great advice from all of you, thank you so much. I do have the Right Stuff and will try to do the one side at a time approach.
