Thank you for telling me what a banjo fitting is. I looked it up and now I understand how it works.

With the inlet on the bottom the fuel line has to drop about 3 inches. I wasnt sure if there is room for the bends and a valve.

Try to get as close to the front as possible. Bands like to stop and play in one spot, your car does not. If the road is 3 lanes wide, you can drive in circles to keep air moving through the radiator. The crowd loves it when you are close to the side, but drive very slow. If there is more than one c...

Re: From Coast to Coast

I have one I could overnight you, but cant send it until tomorrow. No guarantee it would fit your rim, but probably. I have one also with a front hub you would have to change to rear hub. Hopefully someone in Ohio can help or you can make it to MI with what you have. Viel Gluck.

Next step to get my rear axle bearing out?

1. I have two hooks that I tried to pull it out with
2. I had someone step on the starter as I tried to pull it out.
3. What next?

This bearing was out last year. It is a Hyatt bearing. It does not look like it made a groove in the sleeve but that is always possible.

Re: From Coast to Coast

Bernhard. I would go to the closest Ford dealer and get your oil changed. Tell them you are crossing rhe country and I am sure they will do it at a reduced price. The publicity is good for them. I am not sure if they can let you do it yourself, but give it a try. Then the oil can be disposed of there.

Attach a toolbox to the floor. Put it in there with a bunch of tools you no longer need, and make it messy, just so it looks like it has been there a while. They probably will not be looking for any tools.

Re: Is there need for block of wood at trans mounts?

Kevin I have always used a brass drift or punch to get those wood blocks in or out. The hardest trick is then to get the cotter pins in the castle nuts. Might want to grind off the bottom of the castle nuts so the horizontal bolt is not too tite. If Ford thought they need to be there, I will keep th...

Tim All they have to know is every gas station and McDonalds has a free toilet. I took my family to Germany over 10 years ago and I think most toilets were free. Re: Heli coil question

A number of years ago we took my head off. On the car that is. We used a drill with a wire brush and cleaned off all the carbon. Then reinstalled everything. It all works good. No leaks. You do not have to replace the head gasket every time you remove the head. They certainly did not do it in the 20...

They do plan on stopping at American Speed. Perhaps you could talk with them and arrange a behind the scenes tour for when they arrive. Great place.

I think Speedway Motors use to have one that was the right dimensions, as long as you can move the inlet and outlet.

Gute Reise I have one caution as you move across the US. Do not stop or break down in Gary, Indiana. I believe our friend Steve Jelf fought with a pothole there and the pothole won. Not a safe city. If you are following the Yellowstone Trail please let me know. I can walk to the trail from my house....
