There is a T Roadster on Hagerty auction that I have a question about. They are calling it a 1913 but it has rounded doors so it is1914 body. That is not what I have questions about. It has a Driver door? Is this a Canadian car? Engine still has Made in U.S.A. Does not look like has be ground off l...

I know so many people love and swear by the New Day, and I won't argue that. But I'm tellin ya if they only had or tried the TW timer from Tony Wiltshire (RIP) they may very well be as "snobbish" in favor of the TW that I am! Ditch the stupid inline fuel filter. Not necessary. Yes, adding Scotts full-flow needle valve does help especially in a heavier car but yours is only a "light weight" '14! I can't help you with "tread" thickness, but I can tell you they wear faster due to the smooth tread. The gaps in regular tread act like hinges, allowing the tread blocks to roll along the road surface, while smooth tires scrunch up and pull, causing the surface to scrub against the road. Yeh I was...

Does anyone have any idea of how thick the "tread" is on the smooth grey tires? I know it's a truly dumb question as it would require dissecting an otherwise good tire but I'm inferring I guess at least how long they lasted til the cords start to show through!

My thought is the kingpins should not be tight at all. The thread in the axle allows the bolts to be drawn down enough to eliminate up and down play between the eyes of the axle. That adjustment should not cause drag. Similarly the bolts in the bushes should not drag either. A T steering mechanism ...

Yeh now that you mention it... the T does turn tighter! But that Bird sure can fly! Got picked up for speeding on a country road very first day that I had the car. Doing 94 mph and climbing when the Statie chick came around a gentle bend a mile away and nailed me. I talked my way out of it!! ...

Here I go again with what I learned long ago..."when in doubt, throw it out"!
Who wants to drive around all day wondering "when"....if you know what I mean. Ranks right up there with questionable spokes.

I almost hate to admit it but that Rustoleum Appliance epoxy is some dang good stuff!
Every other year I even put my F150 on the lift, clean the frame down with a damp rag of lacquer thinner and re-coat with that. For an 8 y.o. truck that frame still looks like new. Salt resistance!

As Frank expanded on that article and said...yes it's ALL in the brush. I've only tried it once with enamel with slightly less success, p...

Re: washer between rear wheel hub and axle shaft nut?
Tim, there are two hairline cracks in the raised center part of the hub, going out from the square corners of the keyway at 45 degree angles. Concerning your comment about the axles, that is pretty much what I've been thinking... but, I don't have any experience with rebuilding rear axles. So, I fe...

Well the key is definitely junk. That's the easy part. Re the hub crack, unless I'm missing something, I can't see a crack in the picture. But the keyWAY in the hub looks to be "spread open" somewhat, making it junk. And if the keyway on the axle allows the key to "floppity flop" the least little bi...

Okay dumb question first: was the fastener already "put together" as shown in all the pics? As I recall, that part is very thin, what I...

The beauty of a shipping container is its portability. You can take it with you when you move. It must be well vented. I would specify a wooden floor. It is easy to attach a roof over it to have added protection and to provide an extra air gap for ventilation/cooling. We bought an as new one for ge...
