Re: Post the earliest picture of you and your T
This is a picture of a high school project that I had my senior year. The TT belonged to the San Jose Historical Museum (I think it is now the Heritage Park) The teacher tricked me into working my butt off and donating a lot of parts but what a great project and memory. I use my turn signals when I feel that a hand signal will not be safe and after dark, I also make sure that my arm is straight for a left turn and a right angle for a right turn and make sure that I am pointing my finger so people don't think that I am waving, I also make it a habit to use my signal...

I do quite a bit of camping with a T and as long as there are no low bridges you can stack it to the rafters with stuff, of course the more you carry the more it slows you down. You don't have to pull the pan with a neoprene seal to get the timing cover off unless you are going to replace the seal. I have had a number of timing covers off and just clean out the old sealer and put new in the groove when putting it back together.

Re: Driving back roads in southern Utah
Finally got caught up on things and have time to post about our trip. There were 3 Ts and 5 people, we took motor homes and towed the cars from place to place and then drove the back roads. We put 4,150 miles on the motor homes and close to 2,000 miles on the Ts, went to 13 National parks, 8 Nationa...

A tubeless tire valve will fit nicely in that hole and if need be you can trim a little off the end for a better fit.

I kick start 1 of my Ts on a regular basis, like hand propping it you need to make sure that it is retarded and I only kick start the car that sits low enough to get my leg high enough to push down easily. It is great fun to tell a bunch of guys with motorcycle that a real man kick starts his ride a...

A friend has a Hudson hood like that for the back of a 29 Plymouth Speedster it's like they were made to be used for that purpose. That looks like a fun project.

If you hate changing tires as much as I do, I would step up and get Firestones. They will last a whole lot longer, also don't forget to check you toe in when you put the new tires on.

I use 1/2 in rope for sand (5/8 is hard to get tight) and chains for snow, chain grip a lot better in the snow. Either way it is always fun.

Just got home after almost 2 months on the road in Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and California. We towed 3 T's behind motor homes and took the T's on some truly awesome drives. We put 4,250 miles on the motor homes and almost 2,000 miles on the Ts. When I have a chance I will try and post...

Has anyone tried using the thrust washer kit to take up the end play? I was thinking that might be a way to get rid of the excess play if the pin hole is worn in an egg shape.

This last weekend a bunch of us was on a 4 day camping trip, we trailered our cars out into the Ochoco mountains in Central Oregon. It is called bench shears and is a blacksmith tool, the long arm where it turns down goes into the hardy hole on the anvil and is for shearing sheet metal. They work pretty good altho most have a piece broken out of the cutting surface where someone has tried to cut round or square stock.

Re: Tire pressure, how low can I go?
I have run 55 psi in my 21 inch tires for almost 50 years and never had a problem with tire wear and I found I could make a bigger difference in ride by lubing the springs often. My model A drives way better at 55 psi than 35 psi and the T's roll a lot better at the higher pressure. I run 525x21 tir...

Re: Coolant Disposal
Check around and see if any repair shops in your area have a coolant/antifreeze recycler, I had one in my shop and as long as the used coolant isn't contaminated with oil it can be recycled and sold as recycled, some of my customers loved that they could buy recycled anti freeze.

I tried a set of what we called pedal pants and was disappointed with the way they would bunch up under the pedals and sometimes make it hard to get all of the way into gear, so I took them out and used what they call a floor sweep that goes on the bottom of a door in your house. It is a little flat...

Driving it to the vintage motorcycle races (trials today and motocross tomorrow). I use to ride back in the day, so it is a trip down memory lane and the weather is going to be great.
