Headlight Question

After a little coaxing, I was able to remove the passenger side headlight lens to change a bulb on my ‘ 24 Touring.
A previous owner added the black tape pictured.
Was this his way of keeping the rope gasket in place or am I missing a bracket of some type?

I wish I had your skill and experience.

I contacted Lang's.
They have a set listed for $675.
I was told that there is a six-year wait on them.

Are there other vendors I should try or individuals who would make a set?

Bolts for Attaching Carbide Tank

A generous MTFCA member found the carbide tank pictured and sold it to me after going through it. I got the carbide tank attaching bolt kit from Lang’s but the square at the top of the neck of the bolts does not pass through the square holes in the base of the tank. In other words the bolts do not s...

Re: Bending Brass channel

Great job Bill! You should be very proud of your work. You will not find anyone in this hobby more honest or more willing to help others, especially those who are new to old cars, than Hank. He has quietly helped me and others that I know of numerous times with parts, tools, and advice. I only wish ...

Attaching Data Plate 1913 Touring

What is the best way to attach the data plate (smaller version) to the firewall?
I assume that mine is a reproduction as it is not stamped?

It has 4 small holes in the corners but is it easier to attach with double-sided tape?

Thank you experts.

Stay safe!

Re: Raising The Upper Windshield 1913 Touring

Once working well, is it necessary to loosen/tighten with a screwdriver when changing position from up to down or visa versa?
Or does that larger nut (for lack of a better term) on the inside loosen and tighten the windshield?

Thank you, John and Scott, for the other valuable tips.

Raising The Upper Windshield 1913 Touring

I have not tried to raise the upper windshield on the 1913 Touring that I purchased last summer.
I’ve oiled the hinges with Kroil and let them sit for a few days.
Does anyone out there have a similar set up?
I do not want to force anything.

Thank you,
Gene

Re: I'm Astonished

I saw a cardboard sign inside a T that was part of a small local gathering that read:

1915 Model T Ford
Loved By/Hated By
(Owner's name)

I thought that about summed it up.

Re: For Sale: Top Bow With Irons - $75 Plus Shipping

Looks like the third bow from the front?
Not sure what year.
Any more experienced help in identifying this extra bow that was in with my 1913 touring set?
