Re: Starving for fuel, can NOT figure it out!?
Try loosening the fuel tank cap. The tank has to be vented. Also, NEVER use a paper filter. (ask me how I know). bobt He did say the tank is vented, so I think that possibility is ruled out. I was so focused for the most part on the needless in-line filter, I did overlook the often overlooked fine ...

I have RM's on all three of my cars and none have shims. Sounds like some other issue brings up the need. You can install the RM's in an afternoon easily, then takes a few short trips "in and out" to tweak the set up. You want them doing 90% of the work and the last 10% on the trans. brake drum.

Re: Im over it!
Sorry but it's NOT even fun to see in October! That's still some of our prime touring time, at least early on. This past October our group of guys as well as myself and the wife got in a fair amount of time in the T.

Not an expert but using Old Car reports as a guide I'd say $12-14K

Re: How is the weather treating you and your T's
Well today the weather treated me well enough to go for a drive in the Fordor. Too chilly for open car, they're still laid up for thr with ter anyway. We're supposed to ha e a much cooler than normal March so there may not be many more drives till April.

Also...beware of CashApp scammers too, even if you don't have CashApp...I recently saw a review where someone had their bank drawn on for several hundred dollars through it and the guy didn't even have CashApp! Man they're getting way way too smart.

Re: Is the end of my axle half bent? 1927 Touring
Without having read all these posts I did catch a few same comments about the backing plate being bent so my 2 cents FWIW is this is why I don't like the '26/27 axles with that flimsy plate. Makes me more glad my Fordor is what Mike Chaffin referred to as being an "overlap"...its really a '25/'26......

Re: Repairing Plastic Coils
Been like forever since I had a set of plastic coils, which only worked nominally well. So not being an expert I'll just say as I recall the makeup of the "shell", I'd be betting it would be pretty problematic "opening em up" and doing your thing with them and then especially getting them back toget...

This thread is getting too long for my attention span so I'll just throw in my 2 cents worth and say the best place to mount t them is in the SCRAP PILE! I've shunned that part of "my purism" and got rid of all mine when every car I bought that did have them. No regrets believe me!

If you're using the T-3063-CR copper ring gaskets that's all you need. I use them exclusively and love them.

Re: T steering , just to much "squirrely"
Mack, how about posting a couple of pictures of your front axle for us. It is hard to diagnose a problem from just a brief description. A Model T does take 2 hands on the wheel for driving, but lots of people have been working on and abusing these cars for almost 100 years. An axle mounted backward...

Re: T steering , just to much "squirrely"
I will agree with Les except it sounds like toe out. My sister pulled me backwards one time when my t quit. What a ride, it squirreled all over the place. Backing up the leading edge of the tire is placed on the backside and that side is toed out. I agree, I bet you have toe out. A friend of mine e...

What I wanna know Terry is how do you keep your garage floor so clean? I plugged mine up not long after getting my first T before building the barn. Now they're both "grime challenged"!

Everyone of course has their preferences and your list includes all good rebuilders. But I would be remiss of course if I didn't toss my hat in Joe Bell's "ring"! He's done all of my engines, like 4 of them and are great and he doesn't break your bank account.

The front signals on my '25/26 Fordor are actually for a model A but they fit on the bumper beautifully and w I rk great. If you stretch your eyes enough you can see the left rear lamp poking its head up over the fender. I put one on the right rear also and adapted them with dual filament bulbs for ...

Re: Height of 1910 Touring car?
Keith your improved car should easily slide through a 7' garage door opening. At the worst you may have to adjust the garage door opener to stop the door just a little higher. My '13 would clear the door opening by about 3/4" and your car is a good deal shorter. Wish MY '13 would! It even came with...
