Re: Starving for fuel, can NOT figure it out!?

Try loosening the fuel tank cap. The tank has to be vented. Also, NEVER use a paper filter. (ask me how I know). bobt He did say the tank is vented, so I think that possibility is ruled out. I was so focused for the most part on the needless in-line filter, I did overlook the often overlooked fine ...

Looks like Champ is living a pretty fine Dog's Life. A full time job to hang around with Jim and his friends, take rides in a neat old car and eat treats. He makes a fine mascot and I'm betting a great companion.

I have RM's on all three of my cars and none have shims. Sounds like some other issue brings up the need. You can install the RM's in an afternoon easily, then takes a few short trips "in and out" to tweak the set up. You want them doing 90% of the work and the last 10% on the trans. brake drum.

Re: Spring forward one hour tonight.

I HATE the switch to Daylight SAVING time..(sorry fellas, but no "s" in the term)...any way where we live so close to central time going D.S.T. permanently would be better. And the east coast could almost use another time zone of their own. I can't fathom waking up at 0430 to full sunlight like they...

Wait for April!!
Hate to be a kill-Joy or a Debbie Downer...but they say expect a cooler than normal first half of April also. We're paying for the relatively mild winter we enjoyed, I put more miles on my Fordor in FEBRUARY than I will even dream of doing the next 6 weeks!!

Well today the weather treated me well enough to go for a drive in the Fordor. Too chilly for open car, they're still laid up for thr with ter anyway. We're supposed to ha e a much cooler than normal March so there may not be many more drives till April.

Without having read all these posts I did catch a few same comments about the backing plate being bent so my 2 cents FWIW is this is why I don't like the '26/27 axles with that flimsy plate. Makes me more glad my Fordor is what Mike Chaffin referred to as being an "overlap"...its really a '25/'26......

Been like forever since I had a set of plastic coils, which only worked nominally well. WalMart seems to have moved away from "conventional" oil. What they do have is, as you noted, about the same price as the full synthetic. Everyone into the system!
They still have Rotella at the best prices around. I still prefer that.

Mack, how about posting a couple of pictures of your front axle for us. It is hard to diagnose a problem from just a brief description. A Model T does take 2 hands on the wheel for driving, but lots of people have been working on and abusing these cars for almost 100 years. An axle mounted backward...

I will agree with Les except it sounds like toe out. My sister pulled me backwards one time when my t quit. What a ride, it squirreled all over the place. Backing up the leading edge of the tire is placed on the backside and that side is toed out. I agree, I bet you have toe out. A friend of mine e...

Keith your improved car should easily slide through a 7' garage door opening. At the worst you may have to adjust the garage door opener to stop the door just a little higher. My '13 would clear the door opening by about 3/4" and your car is a good deal shorter. Wish MY '13 would! It even came with...
