I presume they have access to better quality tyres than those that are sold for real T's. If those things are able to be registered for road use, thier tyres would have to meet the required standards.

On second look, while the 23" is correct for a model T, that tyre is straight sided, nor a clincher tyre. You would need a split rim to mount the tyre.

If it is just for dislay, it could be mounted on a Chev split rim.

Re: You tell me

When I built my 1917 shooting brake, I put together parts of two frames to extend it to accommodate a KC Warford, leaving the drivetrain standard. The join was made between the running board supports, angled at 45 degrees and welded. Then an inside gusset plate was added between the running board su...

If you have a farm machinery dealership/workshop nearby, they should be able to cut what you need from workshop supplies. Drive over in your T and you may even score a donation.

Re: WTB valve lifters non adjustable

Peter, the oversize need may be overcome by having an engine reconditioner fit K liners to the valve guides. These are then reamed to size in-situ. This is a common procedure in modern engine rebuilds

Just for interest, my grit blaster was also a powder coater. The two are a common combination. That's really neat Bob. Are there laws governing the height or rear lamps in Washington? Here I could mount those to the top support arms to act as eye level brake lights. I love the red tourer. My 15 tourer was also red, a little more maroon than yours.

I like the alloy machined seal caps with the O ring and modern lip seal on the axle. However, it is vital that the section of axle that the lip seal runs on is not damaged in any way, or the seal will not last long.

Past posts have lamented the lack of decent reproduction bridge washers, there being a lack of raised ridge around the hole to more securely crush the tube. Val, the non-availability of the clincher tyres was probably why your clincher rims became split rims, so that straight sided tyres could be fitted. It is the same scenario with 4.40X 23" clincher tyres going off the market that led to the creation of my split clincher rims.

It does depend a bit on the tubes themselves. I store my old Olympics, folded and stowed in a carton, in my cellar which is at a constant 72 degrees.
Modern tubes don't do a very good job of holding air, so it is a moot point trying to store them anyway.
