I have yet to see any modern recreation of a beaded edge tyre upon which the two beads go anywhere near each other when fitted to a T rim. Chris, I make model T mufflers, with the correct Canadian pressed steel ends and deflector. The muffler looks like a T model one, but has a larger input pipe and outlet opening. I can't vouch for it's level of performance, but I do like the note!

I would never run another 3:1 gearset, not because of the load on various components, but because the Ford brakes are really compromised. The car tends to push you down the road under brakes. You are correct Mark. The difference in the arms matters when they are exchanged. The dimension changes between the early pans with the flat gasket surfaces with no return edge to the later pans that have the edges rolled down to stiffen them. The date of the change is immaterial. The difference is in the shape of the pan.

Do not run a tap through. You will certainly upset the alignment of the tap outlet and the result is the need to realign the fuel pipe to the carburetor. Is the leak at the thread? Might it be from the outlet tap itself?

Re: For Sale: Nickle Radiator Shell
Bill, the damage to your shell is testament to the need for the hood to fit correctly, at least at the front end. A poorly fitted hood will rapidly wear a brass shell if it is allowed to rub on the shell. I have saved one not quite so damaged as yours. It needed parts from a donor shell and a small ...

Pat, your T frame gate is not unique. A rolls Royce silver ghost rear axle and frame served the same duty here in Australia, until recognised for what it was. It ended up as the basisifor a high dollar restoration of a very significant vehicle.

The greatest good towing with the top folded is it won't get blown to bits! lower wind resistance is a side benefit well worth having. Steve, is there a need for the rod to be centred? I am not sure what that means in terms of rod alignment. The square mandrels in my fixture are precision machined for accuracy and each size is bolted in place with a flat surface on top. Any size rod can be rested on the chamfered corners of the man...

Led's are directional. To have a gaslight reflect their output they need to be aimed at the reflector, not to the front. You would need multiple led's to be focused on the dish of the reflector to get any sort of output. The halogen bulb is a much better solution for directional output, albeit at gr...

Am I missing something? if the large hole in the steel member through the lower section of the core is not central, the radiator cannot sit squarely. If your pan is as flat and true as indicated, I'd be at variance with not using heat. Bending the arm cold will require really tying down the pan if there are not to be stresses added while bending. Heat will allow the arm to be shifted with far less stress on the actual pan. Either way, the pan sho...

It doesn't hurt to drill part way through the pin, to the depth of the handle That way you have a locator for the pin punch. If it still wont move, step up the drill size until it almost breaks out the side of the pin. The belt the pin punch on what remains in the pawl.

The pin is stepped. The diameter is greater within the pawl. The smaller end goes through the lever and the protruding end is easy to peen over. Not at all difficult to do with a hammer and a buck.

Unless holes have been elongated, there is no wriggle room at the frame. The frame hole is 3/8", the hole in the thimble is 3/8", the hole in the cap on top is 3/8" and the stud is 3/8". The top hat is a neat fit in the foot on the shell, so there is nowhere for things to move, other than any slack ...
