Gee, Dan... If you really feel the need to scrap it send it my way instead, I have a '17 motor that will likely not get a starter, and the iron hogshead is a LOT more durable (and less hard to get) than the aluminum version... They only made them for what, 3 years or so?

I was going to ask how would one change the oil after this conversion, but I see that's been addressed... I have modified the car so I don't have to crawl under it every time I want to shut the gas off... Tho it's always a good idea to inspect the car's undersides every so often, being older it real...

I'm running a Ford Faithful oil cover, so I have to remove the cover every so often to clean and flush it anyway, and it gives me a chance to look at my drums along with my bands... if I had something that made me more lazy, I'd be in trouble!!! :lol:

Headlights are '15 - the brass rims stand out more and have a lighter color in the original photos than the black rims... the front right fender has a bend in it, and there's a ding in the left splash apron... I'll hazard a guess considering their clothes and say maybe mid to late 20's? Maybe 30's...

I realized as well there were 3 separate sets of stamps used on that block... different sizes, different numbers, etc... 2 different sizes of "1"' (one matches the "3", the other doesn't), and the 2 and 8 are smaller... I doubt those were done at Highland, and I wonder now if they were even done by ...

Jellified (old) gasoline in the carb that keeps it from flowing... especially at the main jet. Also recheck your timing, especially since you replaced the timer. IIRC (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the Anderson timer is set using a different "gauge" than the stock Ford timer.
