Rich, I don't think factory supplied 1909 E&J sidelights had flares. All the early pictures I've seen are non flare lights, but I do like flare lights better!

Here’s a few pictures of a 1909 buffalo carb. It’s a pretty intricate carb and probably a good bit more expensive than the 5 ball Kingston. The Buffalo was used on a few early 1909 T’s.

Richard, I've only seen them on automatic windshields. I believe there is a small piece of brass rod brazed into the frame and then a white rubber cap fits over the rod. It may be held in place by a screw. Just my .02.

They were made is 5.5” and 6 “ sizes. They’re very rare and wore out fairly quickly. If I had a good pair for sale, I’d ask $600.

ToI mailed the print to Gene today,so you would need to contact Gene. The print originally came from the ford archives so you could contact them about a copy. It would be much smaller then genes copy.

Hear some pictures of an original 1910 floor mat. It’s clearly made with duck as the blueprint says. It’s with dark gray or black in color at this point in time. Hard to say what the original color was, but I don’t believe it was anything close to white!

I ran across this while cleaning out a closet. It’s for 11-12 open runabout. What I found interesting is is notation saying it’s made of duck heavily impregnated with rubber. I have 2 original floor mats that are made this way.

Keith, that’s a shame. My first Couplet, now owned by the Tagerts, had a starter installed before I got it. Only thing visible is a starter hogshead and a battery. It still has the original engine, and appears very original. I agree that it would be a good option. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Rich, I measured my 5 ball that I’m going to use on my 1909 to see how it compares to yours. The difference on the brass balls is only .002. The depth of the caps is similar with only .004 difference. The ball seat depth is similar in 4 of the seats with .012 different. The center or # 3 seat...

Rich, where did you find the information about not mixing up the 5 ball caps and the scallops needing to be facing the center of the carb?
