The 'best' is likely nearest the battery voltage source, so put it on the yellow wire coming off the foot button starter switch. Think the difference is the year, believe the solid bar type is early, had this solid type on my Nov. '25 Improved Car runabout pick-up. Guess the later pressed steel version saved some cost.

If a new sediment bulb , the newer pipe threads don’t always align when tightened up , don’t over torque , use sealer and set the bowl so the outlet heads in the direction of the carb if you can!

As Terry posted , easy to take apart. If the spring is rusted use a hardware store replacement. If the insulator disc is bad, source new from any single contact lamp socket. Be sure to insulate that hot wire, the lamp housing is ground.

Bruce Concrete block is subject to fracture, with a load, or even a narrow load band like the little foot of a jack stand. The block seems dense but it is really porous substrate. Recommended not to use for automotive support. Accidents have been reported. Here is one nice report, lucky no accident...

The Service Manual gives good instruction, but sometimes parts like brake cam and shoes are worn. Most times the Service way works, but this thread gives a variation for setting the parking brake rods. My personal experience that’s been that 3/4 to 1 turn open is seems to work well on a brand new start up as long as everything has been set up right. The factory used graphite flakes in a thinned black paint and each leaf covered the full length. Surviving leafs pulled apart will still retain some of that dry sheen.

Modern graphite paint like Slip paint and Easy Glide is a good substitute for such a dry lubricant .

Lock washers were originally used many places on the T.

Among those are under the Bendix cover screws, under hex nuts around the crankcase to block bolts after late 1924 when cotters were omitted there, at the radius rods, under the bar mounted headlamp buckets late ‘26 and a few more places am sure!

For those who use compression collar on copper line, snugged in the nut… here is another fracture causing carb leak. Failure after quite a few years, the crimp to the copper line by that compression collar ‘done it in’ ;) Lots of vibration on the Ford.

The original nickel plate is in overall good shape. The tiny bumps and bruises are just character of age. Would just lovely hand polish this shell and replace the fabric welting. My go - to liquid metal polish found useful on nickel is Noxon. Others will chime in on other brands of metal polishes.

Correct John, and here is comparisons to the earlier heat stove pipes.

The late pipe is recessed at the upper side to clear the new combo choke and carb adj. rod with the universal joint.

That new assembly was shown in the July 1925 Service Bulletin.

Have disassembled a few drive shafts where the original soild rivet pins fell out in two or three pieces. That of course after untold decades of use.

A hollow roll pin there wouldn’t begin to last the constant reversing torque forces of all the braking and power applied.

Follow Ford Service on steering overhaul. Pack that case as you smear each gear with grease. Lube the main pinion shaft that sticks thru the gear case cover too with grease , that’s a bearing surface.

Hub cap wrench. The flat thingy with the holes for cap, axle bearing cone, nut rear axle nut or drain plug, the universal tool for the universal car :D

King Bolt appears to be self made from a piece of hexagon steel IMO, wouldn’t trust that part as being properly hardened for that important part, any failure risks damages. If it drills easy as you hope just to make oiler hole passage, the it’s not hardened and drilling makes it weak for the purpos...

If the pipe thread fits, sure. There is lots of space for the larger cup size at both places.
