Re: new axle issue and proposed fix
Old Hillman hunter /dodge dart drums are what you need. Re-drill to fit your hub. Cut off the excess and you have cast iron that the shoes get real bite into rather than steel which isn't as 'adhesive'.

Re: Getting a strange log in page...now two
I noticed accessing the forum from the home page is broken.
Did you change the web address from "http://modeltfoldclub ect" to "https://modeltfordclub ect ect".
Apparently the 's' on the end of the http gets rid of errors.

I don't know how you formed those lamp burners. When I form parts they always look home made. My hood handles look wonky & uneven and yours look die formed.

Re: Rear wheel nut torque
I use 70ft/lb. The reproduction nuts are made of cheese & don't handle much more than 90. Old orig' ones are tougher but mostly all gone. Anything too tough & the axle threads would strip right off so... cheese nuts it is!

Started making a right hand drive friendly timer because the left hand drive one is getting to a point where it can't be skimmed true anymore.

Or you could cut some copper pipe & push it in the holes, then swedge the ends over so it doesn't fall out.

Maybe they were modified for something else? Ton truck maybe? If the spoke center is the same they''ll fit T hubs, hopefully.

Re: How to get the wife or GF to go on long tours
You should be able to use any type of USB device, no matter what it is as the 2nd port has a full 2 amps and is plenty of power for pretty much anything I can think of. The 1st port is only rated at 1 amp. Which device did you get and where from? It would be good for folks to have multiple sources ...

Nice looking unit. Mine had a cool little LED voltage display built in so I can monitor the battery. I found these work for dashcam's too. Just in case you need one. I have so many videos of people puling out in front of me & then stopping with the driver staring at me doing an impression of a goldf...

Re: drive shaft spool machining, has anyone tried this?
Those spools are hardened because they are a bearing surface. Why not just find the correct parts? We have plenty here for the asking. Well if I lived in the USA i could get new axle shafts for $89 USD but out here in the wastelands it's a little more difficult to find any part let alone a correct ...

drive shaft spool machining, has anyone tried this?
Has anyone successfully machined a groove for the earlier drive shaft into the later spool? I am finding it is not co-operating and due to the various thickness I may cut the flange nearly entirely. If there's a better method that doesn't require altering the drive shaft much if at all please let me...
