You sure about that? Changing from a wood to steel firewall requires different firewall to frame brackets and a different hood rod at minimum.

The ones I’ve machined are a bit smaller but just about the same size as the later counterbore size. You should be able to split the later size felt in half with a new razor blade and pack one of the halves in. Saturate the felt with oil before you install the cover. Leave them off and finish the entire top with hidem welt…. Last time I saw one, the aluminum ones were for Model A and not quite right for a T. If the top was correctly installed with a beaded drip edge, that is usually all the protection you need on the occasional rainy day.

T & TT Crossmembers are different. I only mention this because most of the hobbyists and many of the parts dealers don’t know. If you use the wrong one it changes the angle of the engine in the car and the radiator doesn’t line up right.

Remove the pedals and list them for $75. If they’re halfway decent, they might sell before the hogshead. If you can carefully inspect the hogshead and guarantee no cracks or defects, that’s worth a lot more too.

John nailed it. Broken driven gear shaft. I’ve seen it maybe about 8 times and in all but one case they were all from ‘26-‘27 transmissions. AND, if they are rusty they generally aren’t usable. Even if properly cleaned it will likely be rough enough that it will rapidly wear the ring gear. Scrap steel is around $180 per ton, so 9 cents per pound might be a pretty fair price…

The “washers” were originally meant as a “fix” for wheels with wallowed out holes (mostly on Model A wheels)…

Steve, No reason carry spare pins. You actually don’t need it for anything but a convenience of indexing. Visually line up the hole and slot, then tighten the nut. It won’t move.
