Re: Panhard Bars on a Model T
Panhard Bar.., French inventor 1910ish, Watts Linkage, Scottish inventor 1784. Same guy who came up with the Watt as a measurement in electricity. Both state a short version in their designs as it prevents flex and more precise adjustment. Geometry is the key in their performances. Just stating fact...

Re: Panhard Bars on a Model T
Panhard Bars should always be slightly larger than steering control bars and should always be used with some sort of shock absorbers. The biggest problem happens due to people not installing some sort of rubber absorption device at the attachment points, very critical as reverberation with frequency...

How many do you need Ed? I have them in nickel plated brass 5/32" shank diameter by 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, or 5/8" total length. 1" seems a bit long.

Looks a lot like an early Liberty Head.., They were used on boats for the most part. Thats why there is a center return on the water outlet. Not very efficient for a car with a radiator since early boats used a forced scoop system.

At flywheel from building specs should produce right at 160 Hp @ 4,400 rpm. Yes, that is correct. But the factory T transmission will steal 1/3 of the horse power, 128 pounds rotating is not good.

The motor is a 1926 Johnson AB-25, kinda rare as it was made for salt water and was manufactured in South Bend, IN. The factory was only there for 5 1/2 years. The boat is a William Atkinson design from the 1920's and was original 14' but my dear friend Karl Wiernert, Master Boat Builder scaled this...

Soooo this project as been going on for many years. So you think finding parts for 1920's cars are hard to find.., try 1920's boat and accessories. Not many left, were not built of quality as boats were throw away and trailers were built on a budget. So making the ultimate Model T towable accessory....

Re: WHO IS MAKING TAPERED FRONT SPRINGS?
Stephen, Tapered leaf springs are more difficult to produce, why? Because the temper on the ends are different than the centers, this is called progression hardening. I can almost guarantee the reproductions do not work as well because they are tempered as one equal temper. Try finding a really good...

Re: Brass Parts Interest
Corey 20 years ago I was making bowls for others in need not just Model T's. Then , $100.00 for a bowl and they all bitched and complained insulting the man that made it. USA prices with quality is one price, third world country exploited labor is another with no quality. So on today's money scale t...

I think from a craftsman's outlook, let him find his own market and clients. Why? because I have had everyone want something made, but when produced, no money and time and materials wasted. Just stating facts.

No floor used on a RPU, it would only interfere with the battery access and leaf spring hump.

If you have to question the integrity of another and their long term intentions of selling something to them, then you do not live in a democracy. You are turning over a title of ownership and your interest goes with that device. Everyone wants to keep things as they are...., well, that ain't happen...

Dave I use Jack Rabbit clutches but do like to set spring pressure at around 1 7/8" and never have problems. I have a high performance overhead set up with over 20 years and still going strong. Just my experience.

Mack it is all practice.., you can do it! We all start somewhere and when you have some success it fuels the fire. Just watch YouTube videos and watch your pressures. sometimes multiple passes work better.

I commend you for your attempt and skill set! They look very presentable. On another note.., with very little investment those cans are easy to fabricate at an entry level sheet metal person level. YouTube has good instructions, don't be intimidated, just practice. A hand rolling machine from HFT wi...

Santa's Elf's work a little extra since they are older. A peck here and a peck there, a slap here and not there, and done except for the hump. Hand embossing even with a power roller requires hand finishing.

You can make your own using a large C channel as a support at the bottom, cut out dipper channels, box and form ends, then heat and form to your liking. Use your imagination.
