It became important for me to do something with the 1919 Harley-Davidson engine. The bike has been gaining in value and parts since the acquisition of a basket case in 1973. I found this in an antique shop. It is a picture of the 1915 White Automobile Band from the White Automobile Company. It has two interests for me; first the old cars and trucks and second since I play 1880s-1930s period cornets and trumpets in our Municipal Band. I have played similar types of cornets in the picture.

In my machine shop days we used these small geometric die heads on Hardinge automatic lathes. They were quite expensive when purchased new. Extremely accurate tolerance wise even after long production runs. Nice purchase!

Free to a good home, Front brake parts from a 1966 Ford Mustang. 4 lug in line 6 cylinder engine. Two bearing hubs, Shoes backing plates, and wheel cylinders. Iv upgraded the front brakes on my car and no longer need these. If your working on a vintage Mustang these can help. They will not work on a V8 5 lug nut car.

I’m amused by how inflation through the years has disconnected us from our perceived values and the price of common items. I noted recently a vintage photo dated 1939 showed a car in a filling station, the price of gas was twenty cents per gallon. The 40 Chevy truck has been traded for a beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang. My wife has always wanted a Ford Mustang sense the day she was old enough to drive but her dad said it was to dangerous. Yesterday her dream came true. I'm going to upgrade the front brakes to disk to give better stopping power but other than that its ready to go.

I have a 1940 Chevy truck that I allowed to sit to long and now the clutch is stuck, This happened last year also but it freed up quick just by warming up the truck and driving it with the clutch pedal pushed in. This time it didn't work. Any ideas on how to get to come loose?. Oh, I'm try to swap it off for a 64 to 68 Mustang for my wife if there...

High moisture is a major contributor to clutch sticking. Drier storage will benefit the entire vehicle. You can prevent clutch sticking by putting the transmission in any gear, then holding the clutch down and bumping the starter for a second or two every couple of weeks that the truck sits. That will break any rust bonding that may be underway....

I remember seeing somewhere a magazine ad for a light that would be mounted inside the inner fender of a 20's vintage car to light up the tire for oncoming cars to see it, and it was being marketed as a safety device.Does any one know where I could find a copy of that ad I could print off?

As a 45 year owner of a ‘19 centerdoor and nearly 60 year Model T hobbiest, I learned a whole lot ! Was surprised to see a dome light this early….magneto light ??

George, my 15 Centerdoor with the aluminum body has the wires for the dome light going through a hole in the passenger side door pillar. The wires go to a a switch midway down the pillar and then I believe to a dry cell battery in a battery box on the running board.

Temperature here is 101 F at 1:15 PM, per the NWS. Forecast is 102 F. Looks like we may beat that. However, the heat index is only 98F. The reason for the heat, paradoxicaly, is an approaching cold front, downslope winds, and very dry air in place, with the relative humidity below 20%.

Recently Starlink satellites had a problem and connection was lost in areas. The cause given is a bad update.

Well, I underwent the knee replacement surgery on July 25 and it went very well. It helps to have a great surgeon. Since pain is one of the main obstacles to recovery from this surgery, he installed a pain pump that, for several weeks, will automatically inject a strong pain medication deep into the joint so that I am feeling very little pain....

Your discharge nurse gave good advice. Are you also going to a PT clinic? Those folks can do wonders for you. I had a knee replaced in 2020 and yes it is painful and the ice machine saved my life. I had a hip replaced last December and I will say the hip is much easier.

Recently, I purchased a vintage Zenith Trans-Oceanic portable (23lbs!) radio. It's in beautiful physical condition and functions (until yesterday) perfectly.

Chronology of events:

The radio worked perfectly for about 8 days as I learned how to manipulate the controls to receive all forms of SW, VHF, Broadcast, etc.

There is a good Maxwell group on Facebook if you use that. They are mostly brass era though, there is not a big following for the more mass produced cars in what they call the “Flanders” or “Chrysler” eras. The Model 25 was Maxwell’s response to the little Ford dominating the market.

Looking for any information this Kwikway Multipurpose Machine. It will grind valves but looks like it can also be setup to undercut armitures and who knows what else.
Not exactly Model T, however it will be used to grind Model T valves.
