Last week my 26 sedan ran so great but this week there’s a slight missing in the exhaust and a noticeable loss of power. And when I shut the engine off there’s a noticeable vapor coming out of the choke. 🫤 shorting out each spark plug seems to have no noticeable change in engine sound.

After finally getting the engine to run in a friend's newly-purchased '26 T, it was noted that the ammeter did not register a charge even when the engine was revved up. Constantly inspecting and cleaning up parts, I noticed something odd about my fan hub.
The belt hub itself spins true. The fan blades themselves spin true. However, the hub shaft and blade flange are spinning 0.097 off center!! The rivets for the blades were drilled true to shaft center, not with the flange.

Begs the question as to production...

My 1924 touring is having problems in performance. The #3 cylinder is not working correctly. Have replaced all plugs, wires, cleaned all contacts in coil box, rebuilt good coils. This is a common 1917-25 style spindle, but apparently a bearing cage or something came loose and cut a groove about 3/16 deep. Now I am out of contact points and can't find any new points at the vendors.

So I think I can use 1.0 wire from the 8 volt battery to started switch, and then on to the starter motor. Do I need a fuse? My hope is use the magneto for ignition. Here’s an interesting newspaper article about early road work in the Model T era close to Waco, Texas. It gives a clue about old car owners and the accepted nuisance of fixing flats. We can only imagine the hassle of going to town and being dressed then having to get out and fix a flat. Evidently road maintenance was still being done by mule power.

I have a 26 Roadster pickup but my question is in 26 specifically did the back of a factory roadster pickup have a embossed back for a turtle deck or were they all smooth I do know you could have the dealer install the pickup bed on a Runabout when new and mine has had a pick up bed since at least 1961 but not sure what it started out as originally

Who has used one?….Does it require more turns of the wheel? One time I was backing up a steep driveway at a local historic mansion and the steering wheel whipped in my hands, that’s why I want to use one.

I use to keep track of the grey circles to the left of a topic. This always let me know what was the last topic I read. I look at this forum every day and when I looked for the grey circle to see what I read last night it was way down by a topic I read on 12/27. Four days of stories are red and have not changed to grey. Is this common for others?

This has been an issue for some time, If I keep my speed no faster than 35mph the engine runs at normal temp. If I push the engine to 40mph it wants to run warm. The moto meter will be full red. New to me ‘25 touring with what seems like a dash plaque, small galvanized steel (?) rectangle riveted to the firewall just southeast of the buzzer box. I squinted both eyes then winked left and right and still can’t see any engraving on it.
Any thoughts?

My 1916 Ford Touring car has had an engine swap. It has an almost 11,000,000 replacement. I have been checking it out and I would like your advice about reusing the original head bolts or buy new ones. They came out easily and appear in good condition.
