I'm pretty sure pin 3342 is the reason my 1919 tourer won't shift into high gear. Can someone please take a look at the picture and tell me if there's an easy way to fix that without tearing the engine apart?

I see an unusual amount of gap between the fingers with low pedal. Check the linkage to book specs. T1 service manual! doest appear to be any spring tension on those fingers in high. That clunk may be the pedal cam stop. The pin is not an issue. The spring is moving as it should.

I finally found a way to raise the body so we could remove the gas tank for cleaning...I asked my son Bailey to see what he could figure out!
We have a new fuel tank, but it has some minor rust on the inside near where the baffle(s) were welded.
I'm asking for your thoughts how to best deal with this; beads, beads with diesel fuel, Muriatic...
Last post
It doesn't sound like your tank needs the tractor wheel treatment, but for those going that route I would put a chain inside rather than gravel, screws, or other abrasives I've seen suggested. It's a lot easier to remove one intact item instead of dozens or hundreds of little separate bits.

(1) How do you remove the hub caps on wire wheels? I have applied penetrating oil and am waiting a day or so.

Note. If you do not paint the leafs and elect to paint them with slip paint, be sure to paint both sides of the unexposed areas of each leaf instead of just the bottoms. Jim Patrick

The later version was a better cover probably because it was made from one piece of metal by looking at it. Folks - Only 8 weeks until the Mid Atlantic Prewar Swap Meet in Beautiful Luray, Virginia! We currently have almost 80 vendor sites sold which beats our all time high record for our spring meet - and we are closing in on the attendance we experienced at our one-time-only fall meet.

I plan on being there Friday morning, at a friend’s spot, with a couple of brass windshields, maybe a couple of other odds and ends. Got up real early this morning and filled Suburban up with gas, this town has little traffic at 5 in the morning! David Coco Winchester Va.

23 Roadster Trunk Latch

I don't have a key, and the part of the latch that would move with the key, is missing. Is there a way to fix this without replacing the entire latch?

My friend Bill is helping another friend with a 16 front axle. Took the spindle off and found this previous repair to the lower threads. Looks like it was worn almost through.
Anyone else seen such a creation ?
I’d be catching my stomach with my tonsils with every bump if I knew it was there.

The Italian place on Main st. (think it's called Vesivius?) was great last Oct. Great food, big portions, and nice prices. I'm going to try the Mimslyn too if I sell enough stuff.

As a background. I just finished up helping clean up my father in law's estate. To include a collection of multiple decades of vehicles and parts, starting in the 20's to current. What I am requesting and committing to do is document and label parts and tools, sundries and hardware. This estate was 50 years of collecting everything collectable. I...

You guys may laugh, but I sell more of my junk wall art 'garage art stuff at our local Petit Jean Arkansas swap meet or online than I do good stuff. I bought this interesting tail light bracket a few years ago and want to use it under the end of my pickup box. I need the license plate mounting extension that inserts in the side hole. Does anyone known if these are available new? I know the same piece is used for the 1915 license plate tail light assembly.

I'm getting ready to install a new top on my car. I found an old post giving measurements from top of the sockets to the top of the bows.
Can't find it back for the life of me! I want to make sure the old bows aren't pushed too deep into the sockets. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Yup; didn't catch that
This may help some. Front: The distance from the center of the pivot/attachment pin to the center of the murphy fastener, the end of which is only about 1/64 from the edge of the metal socket, is 26-11/16 . Second: The distance from the center of the eye at the end of the socket, where it pivots on the body iron, to...

My 13 year old brother Micah and I will be at Luray on the 14 and 15th and he will be assisting folks finding parts at the meet. The picture is from the MODEL T TIMES last year.
My email is jonahdavella@gmail.com . You can contact me by my email and we will meet up with you at Luray.
small tips are welcome!

This is a great idea from some up and coming entrepreneurs. These boys are learning to identify parts, how to approach and speak to people, and many other important life lessons. If I was planning to attend this meet I would use them for sure just to help give them the experience.

When Did Model T's Stop Being Cool

When did model T's stop being cool as model T's? (when did model T's as they came from the factory, stop being cool?) So many postings on the forum now seem to be about taking the charming model T characteristics out of the model T. Such things as a 12 volt electrical system, alternators, adding a distributor, speedster bodies, adding bling, fuel...
Last post
They were cool in 1908; the coolest thing. Even cooler in 1915, but by the mid 20s they were the ugly duckling of the automotive world.
Ford was a lot of things, but his biggest contribution to society was to break the paradigm: You can have it cheap or good, but not both.
He gave us both.

Scandinavia's for sure - those other put out by Wards and a few others are too thick and can cause re-installation issues with the band springs & nuts !
Scandi's are the only linings I have in my 5 T's.

It’s a good, “modern” museum with interactive displays and other U.S military history exhibits in addition to SAC history.
