When this forum went to this new format years ago, one of the pro's of it was to be able to post pics of just about any size with no problems, as opposed to the old forum. Steve Jelf used to always promote that.

Carb runs great on new engine start, but dribbling a little fuel from the passage screws. They were a little loose but don’t want to snug them in until I ask. Not tapered and nothing to seal on the lip. I am thinking a touch of pipe dope maybe. 91CEE119-B52D-4B5E-8127-80967E763A7D.jpeg 8417E65E-E303-416E-9FB9-80FA983AC312.jpeg

I’m still fairly new with model Ts. I just purchased a 1915 roadster. I’m probably going to need to put a radiator on it as it has the original round tube on it. It’s not in the greatest shape and it probably leaks. I haven’t put water in it yet as the car has been sitting idle for About 49 years. Hard to believe I put gas in it and it started but...

I would at least put water in it and see how bad it is. One of the best early radiators I have looked bad and was $15 at a swap meet. You never know.

A Model F would be nice, say a 1904 with a rear seat unit.. A 2 cylinder auto with a strong engine over the Model A, similar to the AC engine, I assume. Not as many around as the NRS series. Eligible for the one and two cylinder tours. Anything 1904 or older are in a special class.

May be considered too new for this group, but I would like to get my hands on a gen 3 galaxie 500 some day. I love the look of the stacked headlights, and it would be nice to have a classic car that keeps pace with traffic.
It would be cool to find one built as the police interceptor, but I don't have to have a numbers matching car to be happy.

Henry Ford was fascinated with watches as a child. He learned to take them apart and reassemble them at an early age.
Georges Frederic Roskopf developed “La Prolétaire” (People's Watch) in 1867, intended to be affordable by the masses.
I suppose it's possible that young Henry would have known about him and his watch, n'est pas?

Trouble is, as someone posted here, and in previous posts, you can go to 4 different paint makers, and end up

I used plywood for the 1919 on my car deck instead of using the wood slats as original. That was over 30 years ago as it was a piece of cabinet grade plywood. I’ll bet Ford would have used a single sheet of plywood if it was cheaper and readily available. Anyway it’s held up well.

Does anyone support the True-Fire ignition system with parts or information? A friend got one of those setups in a box when he bought his car. The main coil portion looks to be fine but the timer has been abused and is likely shot. Any ideas about where to find support and/or documentation would be appreciated.
Thank You,

Hi everyone new to this forum ,,I am building a Roadster pickup 1926 in the UK ,, :?: my question is is can I use a modern coil through an atwater kent type h old style distributor ,,thanks for your time
Last post
Be sure to get a coil that is for points ignition, not for electronic ignition, as the Amperage of the coil for electronic ignition is too high and will fry the contact breaker points.
As you are using an old distributor i asume your car is still 6Volts, most 6Volt coils are not available for electronic ignitions.
If your car is 12 Volts be sure...

They are keeping a back order list for other parts that are becoming available a few at a time.

Hi.
I have recently purchased a 1925 T Model Tudor that was sold at Motorcar studio Atlanta in 2016.
I was shipped to Melbourne Australia.
I'm looking for the previous owner that would have the history of the car.
I'm enjoying the vehicle and still learning how to drive the car. It's a fantastic car to enjoy.

Beautiful Tudor! I’m sure you have thought of this, but I will suggest it anyway. The title should have the prior owner(s) name, the date sold/bought and the place of the sale. Even if it is a new title, with only the seller you bought it from, the seller on the title should have records in their files of the estate or person they obtained it from...

Vehicle transport is the same.
It’s just a larger package in the mail
so to speak.
Folks don’t realize that logistics dictate a full trailer goes down the road containing cargo that gets closer to the destination.
It makes sense from a shipping standpoint 🤔

Jim: The thrust plates had been turning on the inside of the differential and wore the pins and inside of the housing making new pins a few thousands too long both axles had a groove at the edge of the gear where the washer had worn the axle. Hay wagon to Speedster project is a 1926-27 frame with a 1915 theme. Also it's builder has limited knowledge. Questions:
1) Will a Lang's 3640C firewall bracket work ok on a old style wood firewall with a 1926-27 frame without drilling or modifying?

2) I assume that the top of a skirt fastens to the Speedster body but with...

It aint that easy.
1) cutting the notches will allow one to slide a NON STARTER motor forward on the frame AFTER the F/W brackets are removed.
2) The drawing you provide does not accurately show the actual amount of firewall on the inside.
3) The F/W brackets dogleg inward over the top of the inner frame edge. The F/W mounting holes are in line...

I'm just a 17 year-old kid who repairs antiques, listens to early jass, and wants a T. All of these attributes made me want to repair an old gramophone, pick up some '10s and '20s jass/jazz records, and fall in love with one of the records, Henry's Made a Lady Out of Lizzie.

I've always liked this song made popular by Whispering Jack Smith. The Model T isn't mentioned until it pops up at the end of the song as the punch line.

Are the cross shafts for the shifter/emergency brake the same design for each year of model T, perhaps excluding 09?
Mine has a bit of wear under the pillow blocks. I might try to find a better one.

I posted a page showing the 10,000,000 Model T. The posting showed the 1924 touring with what appears to be white tyres.
Researching newspapers of the period ( up to 1925) it would seem that white tyres were available through the United States from many dealers.
My question to the group, any one using white tyres on their post Brass cars? Post...

Hi,
I understand from reading a few posts that the subject of testing and setting Model T coils can be somewhat complicated...
Hopefully this post won't muddy the water, however I see that there are several methodologies of setting the coils/contacts ranging from the original hand-cranked machines, through a basic average reading current meter,...

Well I have this coil tester on my desk near my computer. Sometime it stares at me until I get an idea. This week I realized there is no need for the toggle switch! :!: One issue was making sure it had contacts that could carry the high current. The funny thing is I found I could short those out! Now I just have two SPST buttons. The red...

Hello,
I love old cars and drive my 1930 Model A at least 5000 miles every year. I am planning to buy a 1914 Model T touring, but I am still trying to figure out how much these old cars are worth. The comment I keep hearing is that people are asking more for these cars, but they are getting the same amount of money for them. When I do buy a car I...

This 21 inch rim seems a bit pretzeled but otherwise ok. I've tried straightening it by hand but it still off. Is there an established way of straightening these in this axis?
Last post
It can be straightened with a press & lots of patience & thought.
A customer had a tire shop try to install new tires for him. They pretzelized one & gave up.
I didnt have an extra one to sell the guy. Nothing to loose. Straightening took over an hour to get right.
I started by getting the rim to lay flat, then tweeking it to round.

Being so close to the road, the idea behind painting the frame, axles, and linkage with gloss paint is not to impress anyone going under there to admire the paint job, but is more for utilitarian reasons. In being gloss, it is slick and more easily sheds mud, dirt, oil film and road film which, if allowed to remain, can start to deteriorate the...

Agree. I think I will have to slope the front edge a little for the front fender. I think I am going to do the 3/4 inch thick. I re-measured and the interior of a running board to the edge is 3/4 inch and the wood blocks from Lang's are 3/4 inch. It is only the lip width that is 1 inch.
