History: On March 18, 1921, the Mount Bethel Volunteer Fire Company of Warren Township, Somerset County, New Jersey paid $598 for a TT Ford Truck. The volunteers made a body for the truck from donated wood. The iron fittings and rails were made and bought from a local blacksmith. The truck was painted and lettered for an additional $50. Fire...

There is a 1914 American La France chemical fire truck in the Dwight, Illinois, Route 66 roadside attraction (former gas station). It was the city's first motorized fire truck. It looks similar to the truck pictured.

VF-56-1: More on "What My Model T Taught Me!"
by
VFeditor_Aleesa » Fri Feb 12, 2021 12:30 pm
The Gallery Section of the Model T Forum has a wealth of technical drawings in the VowellArt folder that are worth checking out. Here is an exploded view of the Model T Sidelight with more information on the various components of the early and late Sidelight Assembly, including part numbers. Rick Ressijac discovered that the sidelights on his 1923...

I have an update on my quest for back issues of Vintage Fords. The Museum did not have what I was looking for. I have been able to find a few. I am still seeking these issues:
All of Volume 1
Volume 3 Number 2
Volume 17 Number 6
Volume 18 Number 6
Volume 19 Number 2 and 6
Volume 23 Number 6
Volume 37 Number 6
Any help would be much appreciated...

I can help you with Vol 17 #6. I also have the complete set of Vol 18 from 1983 and the complete set of Vol 37 from 2002. I hate to break up Volume 18 and Vol 37. How does $30 plus shipping sound for 13 magazines?

Shop Mule Tractors like this 1940s model were used in factories, industrial facilities, and railways to haul heavy cargo in confined spaces. Ford Motor Co. used and sold Model T-based Mules. Anyone ever come across a surviving one? I'm working on a story about them and would love a photo of an existing or even a...

I know you posted this almost a year ago, but I just saw it. We have a Model T Mule in our Mile High Model T Ford Club. The member who owns it is Gail Dins. Gail acquired it after the longtime owner, Bob Baston, passed away about 5 years ago. The mule is called Little Eva, after Bob's wife. I'm not sure if that was a compliment or said something...

I seem to remember this topic was discussed in the past. I have the first issue of CDs and last year sold off all
of my set of printed magazines from 1981 to 2018. Any plans to do a new set of CDs? Any plans to have Vintage Ford

Vintage Ford 55-5 Sep-Oct 2020 Correction
by
VFeditor_Aleesa » Mon Oct 05, 2020 11:43 am
On page 11, the top photo incorrectly dates the cars as coming from a 1919 catalog. That is impossible, as two of those models were discontinued by that time! Those are all early 1917 models.
Thanks to Original Smith for catching this typo. The 1917 Ford Sales catalog was published in 1916 and featured Ford's lineup for 1917. Rich Eagle's...

Thanks Jeff. I saw this here Tuesday but waited to comment. This is only my second painting for a cover.
It is pretty quiet here in the VF section. Like the Gallery it doesn't see much traffic.
Take care.

In the current issue of the Vintage Ford we kicked off a new column called, What is it? Do you recognize either of these two tools? They are part of the equipment in the Model T Museum's Vintage Garage.
Do you own a Model T mystery tool or accessory? Email me a few photos; we might feature it in an upcoming column.
