The quality of the film is not that good, but still nice to see and with some nice subtitles so you get an idea what is happening

Re: Footage of the 1906 VanderBilt Cup race
That video I have not seen before. Pretty darn cool!
One note I found interesting to me was Camille Jenatzy, in a Mercedes at 2:24.
Apparently, his red leather jacket and racing outfit was the inspiration for "Fritz The Flyer" of Bosch magneto fame and still recognized the world over for their magnetos whether Robert Bosch or American Bosch. I'll bet Cam never thought such...
Not quite the response you were looking for I'll bet.
Cool video. Thanks Leo!

Re: Footage of the 1906 VanderBilt Cup race
Leo, Thank you for these and so many early racing links you have shared on our forums! One of the things I found quite interesting about this one was all the driver's names. Just a simple thing. I am more used to studying American racing history, and recognize a lot of driver's names. While I recognized several names on this video, there were many interesting names I was not familiar with. So many wonderful racing cars!
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Footage of the 1906 VanderBilt Cup race
Hello Wayne, yeah what amazes me is how international these early races were from the start, American racers came over to Europe to race and the other way around too, even in the earliest times.
Today we fly all over the place but in those days it was some undertaking to load people and cars on ocean liners and take the trip, it took weeks ! but still they went.
And there was a whole circuit of racing cyclists traveling across back and forth even before motorcycles and cars came on the scene
